The Witcher 3

Oh I thought it was, my bad

I guess it's still possible, but we know the game won't be out until 2014 and it's coming out on all "top of the line platforms". I thought I read an article that confirmed it was next gen but I can't remeber.

How can you import a save if you are playing Witcher 3 on console? Guess they mean for PC.

Everything sounds awesome tho. So stoked
Good chance PC only although we'll have to wait & see what is said at the XBox conference. Anything is possible at this point.

Yeah everything sounds amazing actually. I'm going to play the 1st game on PC if they don't release it before Witcher 3 & do a full playthrough of 2 just before 3 comes out. And I really don't get many games day 1 at the moment but there is a good chance I will for this if it lives up to all the promise.

Ahh..the Witcher. I was excited when i bought the Witcher 2 because of the rave reviews and the previews...

But it ended up being the ony game that i own that i never really finished. I just didn't really like it...

Still, all the previews for this installments looks great so far, so who knows..

I only just started Witcher 2 properly now. I like the acting but we'll see how it goes. The intro was amazing! What things didn't you like?

If i should describe the Witcher 2 with just one word...it's plodding. Not that i want a fast paced Witcher 2, but everything about it, from the quests, side quests and some parts of the storylines ...feels like such a chore to get through.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, and i'm glad that i've bought it, but it just has no replay value for me.

To me, the game feels like, what if a bunch of hardcore, old school RPG-ers got together and make an RPG game. The results would be cool for like minded gamers, but can be a jarring experience for casual gamers.

Which there are FAR too few of these days. I hate how every game now has to be tailored for everyone.

Hopefully Witcher 3 will be just as jarring for the casual pick up and play crowd.

Well, i can agree to that to an extent. But if you want your game to besuccesful-which i take it also the goal of Cdproject-it has to be accesible to the casual gamers in some way.Otherwise you're only going to attract the same group of people...no growth.

And accesible doesn't always means 'dumbed down'...if that's what you're going to argue next.

I think the Witcher has done fine with the fans it does have. It really is no more difficult than any other rpg in terms of accessibility. It just takes a little time to understand everything the game offers. They really dont need to make it any more accessible. Those that decide to pick it up can spend the time to learn CDProjekts game.

I'm finding the combat & dungeons a bit boring although I like the characters and kind of want to speed through to the characters scenes and story progression.

Since Witcher 3 will be on PS4, is there a chance Witcher 2 could go on PS3 or PS4 as a port?

I wouldn't doubt it unless Microsoft has some sort of deal

Is Witcher 2 not on PS3?

Eh theres always the possibility, but i wouldnt hold your breath. CDProjekt is a fairly small studio, im not sure theyd spend the resources to port the Witcher 2 over to the PS3, but its always a possibility if they think they could make some money.

Is Witcher 2 not on PS3?

No, just 360 and PC

I see.

Yeah, there's been a fair amount of demand for Witcher 1 on 360 & that's yet to happen so I guess they have limited resources. The other limiting factor from interviews I've read is that they really put a lot of effort into optimising for the platform so I doubt they'd be interested in doing a quick port.

Yea which is why i highly doubt theyll port Witcher 2 to the PS3. I think theyve moved on and are focused completely on Witcher 3 which is a massive undertaking.

Yeah & it looks a lot more ambitious than Witcher 2!
