The Wizard of Oz is On!

"Watch the magical Director's Cut of The Wizard of Oz where you follow Dorothy and friends through every step of the Yellow Brick Road. Literally."

Yeah, because the Wizard of Oz has such deep meaning behind it. Baum was writing a book for children, and no matter what *******s like Bruno Bettleheim say, there is nothing hidden in the book.

Whoa, take a breath. Did I hit a nerve or something? I never said I believe any of it. I was just saying how I thought the myth/rumor went was that they had purposely filmed that "suicide" or hanging or whatever you want to call it in the background to relate to a deeper meaning, while not coming out and saying it. Thats all.

Return to Oz was awesome, It had people with wheels for hands and feet. Plus Princess Mombi with her collection of heads which scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.

In the books Mombi was the name of the witch who imprisoned the rightful ruler of Oz, Ozma in the shape of her serving boy Tip. The Princess with the changing heads was named Langwidere. She tells Dorothy her face is plain but charming and she will add it to her collection when she is of age. Dorothy, who is in the books very young, says, "I believe you won't."

Glinda the good witch was kind of hot. Her name was Billie Burke, I went to school with her great grandson or grandson, can't remember the designation.

As much as fans claim otherwise, this does need to be remade with more of the scenes from the book intact. Baum's original work is quite darker as most people know, and Return to Oz just shows that they could do it if need be.

Yeah, it is really a bird.

Plus, Dorothy, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow walk right by the "hanging munchkin." If we could see it, they most definitely could. I don't see how people can even believe that someone hung themselves yet no one on the set reacted to it and it even made to theaters. Seriously, think about it.

I read they hadn't even started filming the munchkin scenes yet, so there was no way any of the actors would have been on the set to hang himself.

I didn't mean that as it was an actual suicide, that it was a real person, but that they (the filmmakers) for whatever reason set that up, used a prop or a dummy or whatever. It could have been related to the deeper meaning of the novel or something, I don't know. I never thought it was a real person who actually committed suicide.

No. It is 100% bird. You can clearly see it in the background during other scenes. It is also easy to make out the wing and neck of the bird.

I watched it on TBS. I forgot how much I loved the movie. The melting of the witch is by far my favorite scene.

I read they hadn't even started filming the munchkin scenes yet, so there was no way any of the actors would have been on the set to hang himself.

That is also true.

I agree that an adaption of the book needs to be made. The book is awesome by itself. Baum's Oz is very dark without even knowing it's dark if that makes any sense. Plus, I would like to see the head strong Dorothy that Baum created. And the new Oz movie that is to be based off of those toys will not be a remake, but a sequel of sorts.

Okay,

Didnt you all know that the word Oz is in my hype contract. This thread sickens me :(
