The Wolverine The Wolverine

Considering Fox's track record I was awaiting a title like

X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2: The Wolverine: Japan Edition

I'm glad they went with a simpler, better title. He's been called "The Wolverine" countless times in the comics. And, as many have mentioned, his glorious introduction in X1 as The Wolverine.

So is Wolverine 3 gonna be called "The Wolverine Rises"?:hehe:

Too much positivity going on this thread....:p

Seriously though, i like the title too - very simple and effective.

It's going to be very intriguing to see how Aronofsky handles a big budget movie under a studio like Fox. In the past he's been close to making Batman, Watchmen and Robocop but non ever panned out for a variety of reasons so this is his first. Also, he's known to really push and challenge the actors in his films so it'll be interesting to see if he can still get the same results even though the scale is bigger.

I like it. Thank God that it doesn't have some stupid subtitle.

The "The" makes it weird, but whatever.

Intriguing.

Honestly, it's the best thing that happened to this franchise.

Still don't like the actor, but if Aranofsky is saying F OFF to the other films, and being as he won't allow Jackman to have creative free-reign and will call the shots...this is one project that I have my eye on

Fine title, very happy there is no "2" anywhere to be seen :)

I like it. Aranofsky is one of my favorite directors. I couldn't be more optimistic

I wonder how many times we're going to hear the word "honah" in this movie?

And will we be getting the Silver Samurai? If Aronofsky includes him, my interest will skyrocket.

To be fair, had Hugh not been in this, Aronofsky would most likely not be involved. It's their relationship and Hugh approaching Darren that got him on board.

I know your dislike for Hugh in the role, so I'll stop it here.

I know they confirmed it, then denied it again. Is it definite now?

This is definitely a great step in direction. I love the title, sounds bad ass. And the "one off" comment made me smile. This film has loads of potential.

The character/plot details which was released a few weeks ago had him included.
Kenuichio/Samurai: He’s the illegitimate son of Shingen, but Shingen refuses to acknowledge him as an heir. He’s also an expert Samurai, and he attacks Logan several times as a “Silver Samurai” with electrified armor.

my anticipation for this movie just grew! i like the fact that it will be a stand alone film and not a direct sequel/correlation to Origins

There was a character description leak a few weeks back. Fox had it removed, most likely because it was true.

I wonder if Fox will try and tack on 'X-Men' in the title at the last minute for promo reasons, like with X2/ X-Men United? In the end, X2 was the title used in the actual film.

X-Men Legacy: The Wolverine :p

So is Wolverine 3 gonna be called "The Wolverine Rises"?:hehe:

That or 'Rise of the Wolverine' :hehe:

I remember when they introduced him in the first X-MEN as "The Wolverine", kinda takes me back to that moment

He is the silent guardian... the watchful protector... the Wolverine

Darren is going to regret working with the evil Tom Rothman and Fox Studios on this one.

His vision will be compromised and it seems to me he did this film for the payday.
