It's one of the times his overselling made total sense and worked with the move instead of looking like total ********. Plus he just flipped over instead of pushing himself up. If he did that with the Stunner, it would have looked better.
The push off with the hands is what I hate about Rock's selling of the stunner, because it goes from spectacular to goofy and breaks the illusion.
My favorite WM match of all time.
I think Bobby Heenan's call to HBK says it all regarding that match.
Well, Jamie Noble has been in the corner of a lot of the indy guys that have recently been brought into this company so maybe HE and X-pac could convince HHH and Vince to not butcher him. Not to mention, I'm sure that Daniel Bryan and CM Punk might be willing to put in a good word for him as well.
Punk would probably be his best bet as while I know they aren't buddies I imagine Punk respects his talent, and who knows Bryan may even have enough of a voice these days to help him.
Also Hunter, what do you think of what I had to say in this post:
I'm not going to say I could run a wrestling company with ease but if I had ANY stroke regarding the people pushed and even the people hired, this would be some things I'd push for:
If you have any alternatives please feel free to counterpoint....I like keeping you in these discussions
I actually think letting Hogan and Sting go would be neccisary to sign all the people you want to strengthen the various divisions, both are a huge cash drain and offer very little to the product these days.
Those additions would certainly help give TNA depth, although I think Bully Ray still has a part to play in the main event as he's such a great heel, and if Okada came to TNA he'd have to be in the World title scene, although in truth I can't see him leaving Japan unless it's for WWE.
I definitely agree on letting the stable wars rest for a bit, TNA have over-saturated their booking with that formula.
I definitely agree AJ stands out from those guys. AJ has "It" in spades. I'm just not sold that WWE does or would see that.
There's always that risk, Triple H could think he can turn Sami Zayn or Tyson Kidd into WWE's AJ Styles, but I'd like to think he isn't as stuck in that mentality as Vince.
Yes AJ does work much smarter and knows how to tell a story, and when to break out the big spots. His style definitely would fit WWE moreso than a few years ago. Perhaps that would not ban his big spot moves, but I can see them cutting short the amount of ring time he's allowed to work. AJ can make a five minute match good, but it would rob him of his ability to steal the show.
I think it would be a process, perhaps starting with 5 minute matches where he's all offense and wowing the crowd, then this leads to him getting longer match time like it has for Bryan.
IMO, the one he needs the biggest push from is HHH. Of course the buck stops with Vince, but HHH is the one continually gaining power and influence in the product. Hell, look at the last two breakout stars Bryan and Punk. As soon as they gained serious momentum and had the fans buzzing at their loudest, he got involved and their pushes and character development took a hit. You cannot tell me that is by coincidence. Their pushes were/are clearly done with some spite.
In the case of Punk I agree, at first I was willing to give Triple H the benefit of the doubt but in the end he did nothing for Punk and slowed his momentum. In the case of Bryan I'll hold judgment as to me the set up gives Bryan two major heels to go over, we'll see if that is how it plays out though.
I believe with the right marketing and build up, AJ's debut in WWE would draw a massive pop. I have no doubt the fans would get behind him even with no build, but WWE would be wise to push him strong right out of the gates. We know AJ can hold up his end of the bargain. His signing would definitely get the internet buzzing. Might as well try to carry that over to your general audience.
Agreed. Triple H seems to be a fan of the old vignette approach as they have used that on all recent debuts bar The Shield. I think AJ will get a big pop regardless but if WWE put together a series of vignettes of AJ that show him training and have him talking about taking the leap to the big stage, I think fans will be intrigued as well as excited, basically simple but accentuating the athletic side of being a sports entertainer and the grand stage aspect.
Sure Teddy J, it's YOUR decision not to re-sign. Right, right.

Heath Slater ended up ding better than Teddy.
