The Wrestling Thread Never Thought About Being The Second Coming Of Anyone! -Part 213

It would be nice to have a champion that's actually a surprise and not someone who it's clear they chose months in advance and is being groomed as the new face of the company.

I'd pop big for a Cesaro win but I just don't see it happening.

It could be greast for Reigns and Rollins if they let it play out fully. Rollins probably wont be back until near Summerslam next year, and he sets off on his journey to the title from there. He beats Reigns at Mania 2017 and Reigns has his face turn and together they finally put a long overdue nail in the coffin of the Authority gimmick.

Ugh. :( Unless Sheamus has become vastly more interesting since I last watched that would be as dull as dishwater.

Yeah, wrestlers seem to get over that type of injury better than say footballers, but it wouldn't hurt Rollins to talk to someone like Shawn Michaels about how he adapted his style a bit after his knee injury.

Sheamus could be interesting if they made him more prominent. He's good as a heel, but as Ranger points out a cash in is just going to fall flat because a) it's anticipated and b) they've done nothing of note with the guy.

Rollins seems like a smart bloke so he will adapt. It won't take much either, cut out the flips landing on his feet will go a long way. Deadlifting opponents, while deeply impressive for a guy of Rollins stature, probably isn't smart going forward either.

WWE, I know you're reading this, so I'll give you some advice for free. You can make the tournament, the MIB briefcase, and Sheamus, way more interesting if you have him do an announced cash in weeks before the tournament, maybe even as soon as possible.

Sheamus can now crow for the next few weeks on how he's going to face the tournament winner, regardless of who it is. Gives his character something to do, and helps him build heel heat. You build drama by having this albatross hanging over the tournament; no matter who wins, he's already ****ed because he has one more match left against a rested opponent. So if a fan favorite like Reigns or Ambrose does win it, and even beats Sheamus too, it becomes a major holy **** moment.

Because you know a surprise cash-in by Sheamus is going to fall totally flat in front of a crowd. And I even like Sheamus, but he's not exactly where the money is right now.

Good idea, and they still have time to implement. Just have Sheamus come out on Raw beaming ear to ear, and announce the winner will have to face him. The only thing I would say is that it might take the air out of Reigns' big moment which I don't think WWE would go for.

It would be class if they threw a curve ball and Roman gets screwed early in the tournament, but Ambrose goes on to actually win it. Huge moment, fans are pumped....and out comes Sheamus. Sheamus would need no build to get absolutely booed out of the building for such a scenario.

I don't want Brock holding it till Mania.

I like the idea of Bray being world champ and the family as tag champs. If New Day can be a three team, then so can the family. But of course, don't let the domination last too long.

If Roman wins anyway, I'm cool with that. Through I'd want him to stay face.

**** Sheamus.

Brock holding it until WM would be awesome despite the rare appearances. Makes the title feel special when shown and defended, makes the fights have a big time fight feel.

I'd be cool with Brock getting the title back till WM but I also wouldn't mind Ambrose,Cesaro or even Reigns finally getting the title

What if Vince has Cesaro win and then Sheamus cashes in? The ultimate troll.

The less you see of a champion and the less they defend their title the more special it seems. I've said before in this thread, part of why people get sick of whoever is on top in WWE is because we see them every damn week having the same matches with the same contenders for span of 3 months.

That's why I said earlier in this thread that Cena and Orton being off television for an extended period of time could end up being the best thing for their careers right now. Give fans an opportunity to miss them and hopefully they come back with tweaked gimmicks instead of the same old same old.

If we had roster rotation along with the champion not being on every show things would feel fresh. In NXT you can go 2-3 weeks sometimes without seeing someone.

That is why really Brock would be the best option. You wouldn't see him everyweek and matches would be held to have #1 contenders elevating wrestlers. It could all be a good thing with Lesnar winning the tournament.

I love the thought of Lesnar facing three new opponents all in one night en route to winning back the title.

My dream scenario is Bray winning and holding until Mania where Roman defeats him.

Since the above would be y Mania ain event I'd also add the following:

Brock vs Bryan
Cena vs Taker
Ambrose vs Owens

Brock going through the tournament and winning would add even more to his character right now, Would show how much of a dominant beast he truly is and not just because he's a part timer that makes him fresh

Sorry Lobo, I don't like that main event at all. Reigns winning the title is fine but doing Reigns vs Wyatt one on one again at WrestleMania is not apealing after WWE wasted it in the fall and the story wasn't good the first time.

They didn't let Bray do anything cool when he was going against Reigns after the one daughter promo. I'm sure Wyatt vs Reigns could be great if WWE wasn't so mild now. No serious heat building ever in the current environment. Bray is the type of guy that if you're not willing to go all out with him, then why have the character at all?

Yeah me too, he should dominate and win his first two matches fairly easy, by the third match he should get a challenge but still go through the competition.

It's all good. I just want Reigns walking out of Mania as champion.

So, I have the opportunity to meet Ric Flair in January. Have any of you guys here met him? What was he like? Slushy? Most of the wrestlers I've met met have been pretty kind. With the nicest being Piper, Foley, and Mickie James.

I met Flair at a wrestling tournament back in high school. He was there to watch his son, not have a meet and greet, so we all kept it brief, but he was nice enough. He didn't want to spend a lot of time talking to us, obviously, but he wasn't like mean about it. Same with Steamboat back in middle school.

Thanks, Donnie.

It's crazy that a potentially great thing has to occur due to a terrible thing.

Don't drop the ball, WWE. It's already on the floor.

Why do I have this bad feeling they are going to drop the Tournament and just hand the title to cena. Just something I come to expect from the WWE.
