The Wrestling Thread Says, "Wait Just A Second There, Playa!"

Just cause he turns heel doesn't mean its gonna do sh**. Some people apparently believe in magic too.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

Thats the kind of thinking thats put WWE in the sorry state its in now. And if the needs of the many REALLY outweighed the needs of the few USA would cancel Raw for a something more people gave a f*** about like Football or baseball. It would EASILY get better ratings.

If the needs of the many outweighed the needs of the few the MANY people on the WWE roster would be getting more time instead of a not even part time movie star.

The needs of the many in Hollywood outweigh the needs of those comparatively few Rock marks too I guess :funny:

It's so f'n stupid he's getting inducted again. I'm glad The Rock hogged his speech time back in 2008.

Ric Flair deserves his SECOND induction as much as Rock deserves his first one. It was guys like Flair that layed the blueprint for Rock's cocky gimmick in the first place. Not to mention the fact that Flair didn't need to ride ANYBODY's coat tails to the top nor did he have a family to get him an in to the business unlike certain other WWE superstars.

I'd rather listen to a badass Horsemen story than hear about whatever fake a**ed movie premier Rocks pushing or his lame a**ed jokes.

Horsemen > The Nation.

When Flair won the NWA title it was a hell of a lot harder. The entire board of directors had to agree that he deserved it. Not one guy like Vince McMahon. Flair actually DID defend his belt around the world and worked a road schedule that would probably make Rock piss himself crying. Flair even had the brass balls to walk into WWF WITH the NWA world title belt.

Even Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan said Flair is the greatest of all time. Not Mr. movie star :funny:

According to his DVD documentary, IIRC he joined The Marines because he thought it would be cool, underestimating how hard it it actually was to be one. After awhile of being miserable in the service, he basically did everything he could to get out.

I'm not saying its okay what he did, but I can certainly understand why. Military life isn't cut out for everybody and I respect all who were brave enough to joined our armed forces even if it turned out not to be their cup of tea.
My dead father was in the service. My dead brothers were in the service. What Orton did was bullsh**. If he wanted out there were better ways. If my old man was alive he'd call Orton a piece of sh** for doing that.

While I think Flair absolutely deserves his latest induction, I truly hope TNA was smart enough to get something out of allowing Flair to make an appearance on television for the ceremony. It's absolutely asinine otherwises to let him do so while he's contracted to TNA.

Maybe they got some kind of compensation. I doubt they let him go for nothing in return.

Exactly. Its fine to turn Cena heel only to throw that fans that DO still love him under the bus? He needs to turn heel because he's a decent man? Maybe the problem isn't Cena but those jaded older fans who can't accept that it isn't just about what THEY want and can't see a place in the cartoon world of wrestlign for a Shining Knight.

There should always be a place in the WWE for a true noble hero. Thats what the company was built on from Bruno to Backlund to Hogan. And there should also be a place for the Anti hero like Austin. Its called diversity.

Cenas problems have to do with how he's been rammed down peoples throats.

This is something HBK mentioned in the once in a lifetime piece, he feels it's become a fad to hate John Cena, I mean are they hating him because he wins all the time? that's been the story of every generations top WWE star, and in the case of Cena he's never had a Savage or Warrior or Piper or Andre to share the load with like Hogan had, nor has he had a Rock and Triple H like Austin had, Cena has had to carry the ball on his own because WWE failed to make new stars and ones they did give the mega push to simply didn't get over enough.

He has been rammed down our throats and they are doing it right now with this Rock feud, but that is OK as long as Rock mocks him and then beats him, it seems. However the last time he had the title was just to drop it to CM Punk.

Raw ratings for 3/26

The "go home" episode of Raw before WrestleMania got a 3.04 rating, with 4,443,000 viewers. The show had hour ratings of 2.96 and 3.12, with 10,000 more viewers in the second hour than the first hour.

This rating is actually down from last week's 3.10, which has to be viewed as a disappointment.

Maybe people aren't bothering to tune in to a show dominated by a set of feuds with no physicality featuring mostly guys that wont be there two weeks from now, I mean why come back when the show right now is essentially consumed by elseworlds WWE but the business is still standing still for yet another Mania? hell it's just as easy to buy Mania and see the actual match and just catch the build up via the awesome video packages WWE do.

I read that the deal is WWE will mention TNA on the broadcast.

I think thats fair (to Flair :) ). Flair could mention TNA in his speech. Thats really all it would take. They've been pretty classy about this as far as not making absurd demands. They know its the right thing to do as far as respecting the business.

It was equally classy when Vince decided to promote Foleys Countdown to Lockdown on WWE media.

Anybody got an e-mail address or somethin for BlackLantern? I've really missed that guy lately.

Say wha???? I thought somethings been missing in the last couple threads?...

...I might check out Wrestlemania, the fan in me wants to.....I still remember WM14, that was my first, and to me after so many viewings, still awesome...

Its never as good as the first time...or so the song goes. *cough* :cwink:

Yeah Black Lantern was entertaining as hell as devils advocate. he was an a**hole but dammit he was a likable a**hole.

He was our *******. Miss his absurd hatred of Dolph Ziggler.

Yeah, not having Black Lantern to rain on our parades is something I greatly miss about these threads.

He gave everyone the business in his own special way...

The following is an exclusive photo WZ has obtained showing the WrestleMania 28 set being build in Sun Life Stadium as well as what appears to be the Hell in a Cell structure.

Probably smaller. Hopefully around the same size as the original version of the HIAC as a throwback.

This is Wrestlemania, the biggest show of the year. A draw is a draw. Making the most money hence why Hogan main evented 9 of them. I'll take a crowd approved legendary Superstar over most of those many people on the roster who couldn't draw flies even if they had ***** smeared on them, but of course you hate The Rock too much to see the business side of things.

How is Flair going in twice so stupid? It's not like it'll be individually again,4-Horsemen deserves to be in it and Flair was a major part of it!!

Your glad his speech time was cut short!?..Oh so it's a biased personal issue thing cause YOU dislike him?

I'll admit I always thought Flair was overrated as an in-ring performer as well as an arrogant prick, but I do think he was the epitome of being a heel.

If that's the case, Flair's ass should've waited to be inducted with his boys then instead of hogging up more TV time because of *****ting on his sendoff by going to TNA.

But its okay, let's re-induct Hogan and Austin while we're at it because they're OMG Greatest Superstar EVER too!

This is something HBK mentioned in the once in a lifetime piece, he feels it's become a fad to hate John Cena

No, people hate John Cena because he got boring as fu**. Funny enough, the same exact thing happened to HBK during his run on top. Instead of staying as the arrogant bastard that got him over, he got soft and towed the company which is why he got his ass booed out of the building at MSG against Sid!

Unfortunately, 5 of those were so bad, they are unwatchable.

That black cage looks actually kind of... Bigger.

I would imagine they are either getting a fee or having their name mentioned. If Dixie was smart, she negotiated for both.

I read that the deal is WWE will mention TNA on the broadcast.

So far I haven't read what the potential deal was TNA & WWE struck. Where did you read the news? WWE really has nothing to lose by mmentioning TNA.

Cenas problems have always been booking and presentation based. Even if he turns heel what makes you SURE that all those people that hate him will suddenly embrace him? They boo him cause its trendy and popular and some of them will boo him no matter what.

Saying "he needs turn heel" while ignoring all the other issues is just the lazy way out.

I'm not sayng he needs necessarily needs to turn heel, I'm saying he needs a gimmick change!

He got over but it wasn't the fact that he was a HEEL that got him over but his attitude and presentation. When he turned face the same thing kept him over. Cenas presentation was changed and thats when some people got really sick of him. He wasn't allowed to transition naturally to that top spot.

again the heel/face thing isnt important, he had different characteristics, which is what I am saying he needs now

Then you didn't read the definition of FUNDAMENTAL that I posted. Look it up yourself. FUNDAMENTALLY different characters means they were all different at the CORE or the foundation. They weren't.

I did read it, not that I needed to, and if you read what I last wrote then you should know that I think FUNDAMENTALLY they are different to their real life personas, and that parts of their personality are simply incorporated to try and give them some real life standing but once again they are fundamentally different people simply with some shared characteristics (I'm repeating myself but you clearly didn't read or maybe understand what I wrote - and as I said before I think we will have to agree to disagree on this topic)

Angle at the time wasnt like Cena now. Cenas an in your face wiseass when he wants to be but he doesn't tell someone they are wrong to hate him or wrong to do anything. Early Angle was never that. You got the feeling that he was disappointed in people who didn't live up to his standard. His "wholesomeness" was rubbed in peoples faces. He was a much more exaggerated boy scout.
he is?!? WHEN!? I wouldn't have a problem with him if he was, the only time I have seen it is very recently against the rock, otherwise all I see is "you don't like me? geee willikers thats a shame I think youre a good wrestler... I love wrestling, I am going to beat yo" goofy smile

I wish I was able to follow through with my plans to go to Wrestlemania this year. Unfortunately, time and funds are not cooperating. :(

I'll always have Wrestlemania 27 :hrt::hrt::hrt:

It reminds me of the classic blue bars from the old cage matches.
