I'm really excited about this main event tonight. This was a match that of course I was going to order on PPV. Daniel Bryan, main eventing one of the biggest WWE PPVs of the year, with a serious shot at winning the WWE Heavyweight Title? How could I miss it?

Bryan Danielson first came onto my radar back when ROH first began back in 2002. I watched his match on the first ROH show, and acknowledged his incredible technical abilities, though at first I was more grabbed by the flashier styles of his contemporaries: Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, CM Punk, Samoa Joe. It wasn't until 2006, when Danielson was ROH World Champion and in the midst of what I would argue remains the greatest wrestling title run of the modern era, that I truly began to fully appreciate his masterful in-ring storytelling and recognise him as the best wrestler in the world. There were times where I might have fluctuated and my personal favourite wrestler may have been temporarily someone else - Samoa Joe held that slot for a long time until TNA sucked out every last drop of passion from his bloodstream - but I always believed that, looking objectively at in-ring ability, Danielson was without peer. And ever since he headed to WWE, he's been my favourite wrestler. Even during the Summer of Punk, the newly-christened Daniel Bryan was still my fave. And as excellent in the ring and underrated as a personality as he might have already been, I think in WWE he's shown real growth on the mic and in his character work, becoming more and more of a total package, and it's been a delight to watch. Even though I'm not into wrestling anywhere near as much as I used to be, one of the few things that can still spark my interest is seeing someone as GOOD as Daniel Bryan get his due. And I'm watching this PPV tonight in hopes of witnessing history and being part of the moment where the skinny pale guy who used to be regarded as "the greatest wrestler who you'll never see in WWE" becomes the Heavyweight Champion.

But I'm not discounting John Cena either. I watched that promo segment from the latest Raw and, as good as Daniel Bryan was and as much as I'm rooting for him, I think John Cena delivered the better promo. I've been saying this for years: I have big respect for John Cena, and think he's undeserving of the hate heaped upon his head. It's just become trendy to boo Cena, and it's easy to overlook what a workhorse he is. Yes, he's often booked overbearingly, and it can get hard to stomach at times. But the guy is damn good at what he does. Think of some of the other flagship stars the company has had... Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, HHH, even Steve Austin to a degree... who have been known to play politics and hold people back, accused of having an ego. But Cena is an exemplary company man, and a fine ambassador for the sport. People complaining about how John Cena "buries" people don't know how good their favourites have got it in comparison to the eras presided over by some of the top guys over the years. Cena gets "same old s**t" shouted at him, but he's actually quite versatile in tweaking his character in just the kind of way that presents himself as the antithesis of his opponent in a manner that will maximise how over they will get from feuding with him. Has WWE's booking undermined that and hurt people's pushes? Sure. But Cena has gotten so many guys over through the years, and as much as it stings people to admit it, CM Punk owes a large amount of his star hitting the stratosphere to John Cena being the perfect foil for him, in and out of the ring. And in the ring, people scream "Five Moves of Doom" and yes, it often devolves to that. But Cena has had strong matches with a wide range of opponents. CM Punk didn't wrestle a broom in those classic encounters. John Cena is what I consider a safe pair of hands. You put him with a dud, and it's unlikely he'll make magic. But you put him with someone good, and he will play to their strengths, and make them look awesome, and more often than not, if I see "John Cena VS TALENTED GUY" on the card, I know the match will deliver the goods.

I would be pretty offended if Bryan lost.

Last year WWE had a red hot Ryback and they didn't pull the trigger--and now he's nothing. Now, really, I didn't want Ryback to beat CM Punk and I'm glad he didn't--because Ryback sucks and shouldn't be a top guy, in my opinion. That said--they had the opportunity to push him to the top, they didn't give him the win, and the direct result is that now he's nothing.

Ziggler is a similar situation. He was in prime position, but they mishandled him and now he's been squandered.

Are they going to do it again? This is as over as this "chase' is going to get. It's time to pull to trigger on Bryan or you risk Rybacking him.

If Cena does win, I have to imagine that Orton takes the title off him after the match--their thinking being that they'd rather have Cena lose the belt to a cash-in protects him, and that Bryan can then take the belt off Orton without actually going over Cena.

Please tell me Tito Santana will be their manager.

Out of curiosity, is anyone here planning to go to WrestleMania XXX?

I might. Then again, I'm too excited because of this year's Mania and New Orleans' hotel prices are crazy as it is. I kind of hate what Mania has become, but I might go JUST because ROH and DGUSA always deliver on WrestleMania Weekend. Why pay $300+ and get one great match when I can pay $50-100 and get 3-4 great matches?

I'm thinking about going. Even if I have to fly out early the day of, and fly back really early the next day.

Yeah, it'll be exhausting. But its WrestleMania.

I've gone to Mania 5 times now and really, it's truly, truly, truly magical the first time.

If the card looks really good like it did last year, then I'll definitely go. But trust me, your first Mania will be something you'll never forget.

My friend Diego brought a "Marry Me Bellas" sign. Did anyone see it?

Did I see Lesnar Guy during Ambrose's entrance?
