The Wrestling Thread Won't Beg, But it will Ask Nicely

With the WWE Title scene a bit crowded, I could see the WWE giving Langston a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship, provided Michael Hayes doesn't object. I could see Langston a face because sooner or later because the WWE has got to realize that nobody gives a flip about Alberto Del Rio.

Hayes in charge of the agents now. I doubt he has the power that he once had.

GLAAD is full of damn IWC smarks. They spent all day today tweeting about how much gayer the wrestlers are in Japan.

Classic! :applaud

Ziggler needs to take the World Heavyweight Championship. He's the rightful champion right now.

****ing Jack Thwagger.

I agree, he needs to finish things with Del Rio at NOC and start a WHC run to Mania. It's worrying that he wasn't on Raw or SD this week leading into Summerslam.

Sorry for the cross wires, I didn't mean we couldn't choose the same matches as each other, just that none of us could use the same wrestler twice on our cards.

Man those 2011 title matches were damn good and that Benoit/Y2J, 2 out of 3 Falls match is a bit of a forgotten gem from their rivalry. That match between Rey and Ziggler was definitely Dolph's arrival and I think Rey should have put him over at that Summerslam.

Ah, I see. No worries. Thinking about the other matches helped jog my memory. :)

Yes they were. 2011 was a good year for wrestling. I'm starting to think WWE's good times happen every odd year, as 2010 and 2012 were pretty weak while 2011, 2013 all had stand out great moments and wrestling. I think the last time an even year had good quality was 2008, which featured HBK's story arc from retiring Flair to feuding with Jericho.

I didn't understand why Ziggler didn't go over at Summerslam, or why Rey put Morrison over instead of him before taking a break thanks to his injury.

He's probably busy filming that upcoming Max Landis Film. I hope it doesnt stifle his push. He's been through enough jobbing this year to last a lifetime.

I thought Smackdown was a good go home show for Summerslam.

Bray Wyatt's promo to open the show was money, I hope the match is halfway decent.

Sandow vs Christian was a strong outing for Sandow even with the loss.

I found the RVD, Big Show and Henry promo pretty amusing, there was something very 80's about it.

The Divas tag was solid enough, would have liked a bit more AJ vs Nattie in there.

Not sure where this Ryback bully stuff is going.

The Shield vs RVD/Show/Henry was good, Ambrose selling for Show at the end was fantastic, as was Rollins taking out Henry.

Zack Ryder got more offense in than I thought he would against Curtis Axel, and the post match promo from Heyman was short and on point.

The main event between Bryan and Barrett was very good even with all the overbooking, Vince, Maddox, Triple H and then finally Orton basically covered all the players bar Cena in the title match for this Sunday, and Cena didn't need to be there as he's the one cast iron certainty going into this match, he wont be changing.

On a side note, I wonder if Vince was wearing that jacket as a bet. :funny:

 Summerslam has had some great ones over the years, arguably as many as Mania.

That's an interesting observation, although I'd say much of the first half of 2012 was pretty good, where as 2011 was pretty poor for the first half of the year until the pipebomb.

That was a strange one as Rey is not known for politicking or refusing to do a job.

Is that film under way already? I thought he was only cast yesterday.

Well I don't know, Landis released a twitter pic with the cast so I was assumed that production began already. In either case, I hope he doesnt get a stifled push

I thought that was a manip? I don't think Dolph would jeopardize his push for anything, wrestling is his passion, not movies.

If it was a manip then I'm relieved. I was afraid they'd job him to Big E.

Ziggler is doing a film with the writer of Chronicle? Nice.

There was a great line from AJ on last weeks SD Backstage fallout - "How many times does Kaitlyn need to spear me? I would like to have babies one day Kaitlyn! I would like that...maybe.. probably not, I don't really like kids that much."

:funny:

I think him and Big E will come out of Summerslam neutral, Kaitlyn will get the pin.

Hey Hunter, did you see the editorial I posted regarding TNA and WWE from Ewrestlingnews? If so, what are your thoughts on it and what do you suggest for TNA?

So it's not John Landis? [/old]

John Landis was one of the kings of comedy for years. I also loved Harold Ramis and the Zucker, Abrahams, and Zucker as well.

Ok so with the extremely slim chance hogan is gone from tna and the other rumour of a heel HHH facing mcmahons hand picked hero. How would guys feel is hunter goes over on hogan at mania 30.

I would hope that Triple H would politic against that idea. What wrestler in their right mind would want to wrestle Hogan at this point? Triple H would have to know that there's a 0% chance of Hogan vs. Triple H being a good match in 2014. Trips would need to carry the entire thing.

I may be in the minority here but I don't want Hogan anywhere near the WWE.

And if he has to sign, I'd rather he be an ambassador, nowhere near the ring.
