The Wrestling Thread Won't Beg, But it will Ask Nicely

What got me thinking about it is what Heyman mentioned at the 2K14 WrestleMania symposium about Brock saying to him after re-signing, "We'll headline/main event another WrestleMania".
I'd have Brock win tonight, Punk then go on to win the Rumble and Brock pick up the title around Rumble time, culminating in Punk vs. Lesnar at WMXXX in a return match, but with the WWE title on the line.

I'm starting to get a feeling there's a good chance we could be seeing Bryan vs. HHH at WM. With that, I'd probably say potentially the card could work out like this hypothetically:

WWE Title Match: Punk vs. Lesnar

Cena vs. Taker (maybe)

Bryan (w/ McMahon) vs. HHH (w/ Steph)

As much as I love Brock, I just don't think another part-timer holding the belt is a great idea. If he is willing to commit to a full time schedule (or something very close to it), I'd be all for it.

Rock for me has just always oozed charisma, I would take the Rock at his worst over alot of guys on the mic to be frank - I too loved Foley, and Punk is my favourite on the roster at the moment (likewise I loved Austin and HHH back in the day too) so guess it really is down to personal preference... or the rock came and kicked your sandcastle over when you were a kid ;P

on a side note Im gonna stay up for SummerSlam, what time is it on in the UK hunter?... I think work might understand if Im tired tomorrow ;)

He has charisma no doubt and I actually enjoy him as a movie star way more than I ever did as a wrestler. I just always feel when he gets on the mic he's like a bad pub stand up with nice teeth lol.

1am start here, you might need a pot of coffee! :D

This will be the match of the night:

Probably because it won't be the cluster F that the WWE Title match is going to be.

It's not cynical, Triple H and Vince are using Bryan and Cena to make their angle relevant, Bryan, Cena and Orton gain nothing from their involvement.

Bryan is getting the WWE Championship win over Cena, and Orton is likely getting a cash in off of it.

The dude you're talking about is a bitter writer who got canned, guys who actually got in the ring with HBK night after night including Kurt Angle, the guy who's name was used by the ex writer, say you never look better than when wrestling him.

But I guess his word was the gospel when he was talking about how Vince viewed Christian?

Her did the right thing in Montreal and what is this passive aggressive rubbish? Shawn made it pretty obvious he wanted to make Hogan look a fool, there was nothing subtle about it, no one else has ever had that problem with. Shawn has one dead push to his body count, Triple H needs two hands for his.

I don't disagree that Bret Hart had his fair share of guilt for Montreal but that was hardly the right way of going about it. It was petty and juvenile on all counts.

I wonder if it'll be the main event of the night. I was listening to the radio today and there was a little ad for Summerslam tonight and it mentioned the main event as being "The Best vs. The Beast". No mention of Cena/Bryan.

After Vince and Triple H are key in the outcome.

No, where did I say that? I said he was a bitter, obnoxious and ignorant guy who thought he never had a bad idea directly after Superark posted the article, I criticized him for the usual limp excuse shots at Vince and Triple H as well, please check before trying to accuse me of something Nell.

The whole thing was a giant mess as you can see from the recent interview Bret and Shawn did a couple of years ago, but bottom line was if Bret wasn't going to do the right thing come game time then as Triple H said they had to do it for him.

ooooh was hoping it would be later so I could get some sleep in first... hmmmmmn... guess Ill get 3 hours sleep if it ends at 4... fuuuuuuudge Ima go for it! you staying up?

they did say I can go in late after any PPV but I feel bad if I do!

I think they could make it work. They'd quite simply just have to save up and book a large chunk of his limited dates within the two month period in the build-up to Mania, similar to Rock, but hopefully a bit more.

As a mark, I'm seriously pulling for Bryan. Been a fan of his since his 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match with Paul London at ROH: The Epic Counter back in April 0f 2003 and I never in my wildest dreams would have guess he would be in the position of he is now.

Live, that was cool at first. Then it just got tiring.

I am surprised that on the PPV Predictions thread, there are a lot of people picking "Show Henry vs. The Shield" as Random match instead of Orton cashing in on Bryan and winning the WWE Title.

I was going to pick that, but I reckon they're going to draw that out a bit. It just seems too obvious at the moment, with all the teasing. Though of course there's a good chance I could be absolutely wrong.

After Vince and Triple H are key in the outcome.

And how many title changes have happened due to involvement from others?

I'm certainly not bitter that Austin's involvement was needed to get the strap on The Rock at Backlash 2000. I'm certainly not bitter that The Rock was involved in The Miz keeping the belt at Wrestlemania 27.

Those moments are far from tainted for me just because other people had to be involved for the outcome that I wanted.

I don't recall seeing you state that, but my apologies if I'm wrong.

Whether it was you or not, I do remember people jumping on Vince's case for the accusations made about him regarding Christian, while completely ignoring the accusations made towards Michaels.

Like I said, it was juvenile on all counts.

Everyone involved in that was extremely childish, from Bret and Shawn, to Vince, all the way down to Hebner. Not in the least bit professional.

Man, I just wish WWE would bring the Cruiserweight title back. Screw this, I'm gonna start training and find a wrestling school :hehe:

The Cruiserweight Reborn!!!!

I have ordered Summerslam tonight, the first wrestling PPV I have odered since last year's Wrestlemania. Here's hoping it delivers!

As do I. Going out of my way to the old neighborhood to see this. Don't like trekking there anymore, but for this is seems worth it.

Would that be somewhere in the ocean, Dolphin? :hehe:

Breaking Bad or SummerSlam... decisions, decisions...

Well, I'm heading to the Staples Center. Hopefully traffic won't be a *****. I might be doing a little live-blogging during the show. Anyways, I do hope everyone enjoys the show on PPV and.........AMERICAN DRAGON FTW!!!! :D

Breaking Bad or SummerSlam... decisions, decisions...

I hate that I'll miss Breaking Bad, but I do have it recording and I've been planning this Summerslam trip for months and don't wanna miss it.

Depending on how the show builds up, I might be going to the Hell in the Cell ppv.

Shawn Michaels is a punk ass b*tch. I won't deny his talent, but he deserves all the venom he gets from me and any of his haters for all the sh** he's pulled. The guy has more dirt on him than The Undertaker's cemetary.

As for Montreal, I'm not saying Bret is a saint, but he should've a pay cut and dropped the title before the PPV or Vince should've been reasonable and honored Bret's creative control clause or have Bret drop the title to anybody else (Austin, Undertaker, or Shamrock), but the guy he despised.

If HBK HAD to win the title that night (I still don't know why Vince was so adament about this outcome), Hunter clocking Bret with the belt for Shawn to get the dirty win would've been the best finish to compromise both sides.
