http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.php?id=102569After WWE NXT Takeover: The End of The Beginning went off the air, Triple H took part in an interview with Cathy Kelley that was streamed live on Facebook. It was very much a recap of the PPV with Triple H sliding in and out of storyline mode.
Triple H was introduced as "the man behind NXT." He welcomed Kelley to WWE.
Kelley asked Triple H about all the speculation of the title of tonight's show "The End." HHH joked that "NXT was no longer." He said that there were multiple meanings to the title. He said the night was about the end of Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe's rivalry after seven months. He said the biggest reason was that NXT had this amazing transition from where they started and you see names like Paige and Seth Rollins as the initial champions. He said that they have transitioned from being a developmental brand to being a "brand in itself." He said NXT is it's own brand in every way and tonight marked the start of NXT - the brand.
He referred to Tye Dillinger as the most underrated talent. He praised the debut of Andrade "Cien" Almas and said it was unbelievable. He said he's had his eye on Almas for a long time as he launched his career in Mexico. He said he doesn't understand why anyone would put a mask on him based on the reaction of the women at Full Sail but joked he didn't know about the hat with the feather.
Triple H said that Revival and American Alpha will continue to revolutionize tag team wrestling. He said NXT has put the spotlight back on the tag teams. He said he could watch those teams do it over and over again and on any given night, either team can win. He said we haven't seen the end of that rivalry.
On the debut of Paul Ellering and The Authors of Pain, he said that he wasn't 100% sure what happened there and referred Kelley to William Regal. He said that the landscape has changed and he is interested in seeing what they can bring to the table.
On Nakamura vs. Aries, Triple H said it was one of those dream matches you would look at outside of WWE and wonder "What if?" He said that Nakamura is hard to explain but was one of the most sought after talents in the world. He said Nakamura and Aries being here shows that NXT is the place to be.
Kelley asked about Bobby Roode. Triple H said it was an example of the entire world wanting to be in NXT and said everyone is clamoring to be part of the brand.
On the NXT Women's championship bout, he said that Nia Jax losing was not a setback. He said that he had never seen someone push Asuka as hard as she was tonight. He said that people forget that Asuka has been doing this for 10-11 years and brings an experience level that Jax, in the ring for one year, does not. He put over Jax for pushing herself and said that it was still a step forward for Jax. Kelley asked what tonight meant for the other women on the NXT roster. He said they were all put on notice by both Asuka and Jax. He said that they are two women at the top who aren't going anywhere and Bayley will be back from injury soon. He teased that he knew of a big debut coming and said the landscape of the women's division was going to change really quick, really fast.
On the cage match, he said that Joe was really hitting his stride in NXT now. He said there was a transition period but inside his head, he is truly the NXT champion. He said Joe is the monster that he says he is. He said the pressure of being champion is immense and Finn Balor had that pressure for 290 days. He said the longer you have that pressure, the more you begin to break down. He teased this wasn't the end of the feud but said Joe has a lot of people chasing him with Nakamura being the most prominent.
He said that for himself and NXT, it's all about continuing what they have built. He put over the NXT tour of the UK that they leave for this weekend. He predicted the NXT Brooklyn show would sell out immediately on Saturday. He said it was the end of the beginning, but they are just getting started.
I can understand why some people think Goldberg was overrated but the idea of him only having one solid match is bs to me! His best match was against DDP at Halloween Havoc'98 but I wouldn't say that was his only solid match, IMO he had good-great matches against..
Hollywood Hogan - Nitro'98
Sting - Nitro'98 and Slamboree'99
Kevin Nash - Starrcade'98 and Spring Stampede'99
Bret Hart (Yes despite ending Bret's career) - Starrcade'99
Booker T - Nitro 2000
Scott Steiner - Fall Brawl 2000
Chris Jericho - Bad Blood 2003
Triple H - Survivor Series 2003
Elimination Chamber -Summerslam 2003
When was the last time Titus had a solo match at a PPV?
I think given a little more time, Jason Jordan could be a huge star one day.
