The Wrestling Thread's Never Been So Disgusted With a PPV... - Part 139

- WWE officials did not plan on the negative fan reaction at the Royal Rumble but Daniel Bryan not being in the Rumble main event played into the storyline that he's having to overcome "the machine" wanting to hold him down. WWE is behind the idea of wanting the fans to be outraged that Bryan isn't being pushed more.
I actually gave thought to a lot of WWE's obstinance being a work, even stuff like Foley's and Bryan's comments. Even if it is, I still believe last night was a **** up. There's a line between teasing the crowd before the inevitable face victory and just screwing with people. The Rumble was the latter and the extreme visceral reaction points to it.
Kurt Angle mentioned to the UK Sun that he would like to return to WWE before his career is over.

Kurt Angle also mentioned in the interview that he would like to have a program with either Daniel Bryan or CM Punk.
Mark so hard, mother****ers wanna fine me. :more:

Turn Batista heel and have Batista w/Flair vs Bryan w/Hogan at Mania.

Only thing I don't like about that is I could see Hogan trying to steal the limelight from Bryan as he did from Savage at WMIV when the post-match celbration comes.

God, I wish they stayed in Pennsylvania for Raw and it was in Philly tonight. :sus

I'm not sure what Orton vs Cena was like as the crowd were so distracting, I mean I know most of us are sick of, or never liked, that combination, but this was never a title match Bryan should have been in, so the crowd were oddly harsh on them.

According to F4WOnline.com, Batista was not the only WWE star upset with the crowd in Pittsburgh last night, as it's being said Randy Orton was visibly angry backstage after his match against John Cena at the Rumble.

yeah the crowd were somewhat unfair on them, cant blame Orton for been frustrated at least he has the decency to not show his frustrations in front of the crowd, unlike Batista

The Authority should come out and say they were displeased with Batista's behavior after the Rumble match, and that flipping off fans shouting at them isn't good for business. As punishment, Batista's Wrestlemania shot is up for grabs in the Elimination Chamber match.

Bryan wins the match and goes to Wrestlemania.

Brock beats Orton and becomes WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

HELLO.

I really wish I could be backstage and see Orton and Batista have hissy fits.

This would please me. :yay:

Batista ain't losing his spot, imo. Only hope we have is others being added/inserted into the ME at Mania, or someone else beating Orton for the title between now and Mania.

Benoit and Guerrero were forerunners to Bryan. The fans had been wanting them in the ME for a long time, WWE gave the fans a brief taste, then moved on.

Did you just call Angle a "utility" guy? Sorry, I can't disagree more with that statement. It's a shame for WWE that he moved on (although his substance abuse might have been an issue) because he's far and away the most complete talent that has debuted in WWE in the last 15 years. Cena, Batista, Orton, and HHH together aren't worth one Kurt Angle. I wouldn't even put Bryan in Angle's class.

Utility guy refers to the way he was booked. Angle was never really the man, but the man that worked with the man. Just as Jericho was. Not referring to his in-ring ability.

Angle better than Bryan or vice versa? I'd have to think about that. Definitely worth a debate.

Ok so lets say Bryan win the title at EC, then faces then goes on to face Batista at WM how pissed off will the fans be if Batista wins the title off Bryan at WM. You think the fans are pissed now, what till that happens.

Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed that Davey Drax responded to crowd chiding with middle fingers. I was hoping to read of another "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE MY FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!" utterance.

I think the only way they could make this right is to have a ex chamber match for a spot in a triple threat match at wm with Bryan winning that of course. Will they do that? Probably not

Or they Have Bryan end the streak.

I like seeing old hype wrestling fans come back to complain about the current state of the wwe.

the brock/show match should've been scrapped also, what a waste of brock's limited schedule

I haven't watched since maybe 2012, but I always poke my nose in the threads to see what's going on and how people are reacting to it. If I was still watching regularly I know I'd probably be pretty pissed with how last night was handled. Damn shame, seeing as last night could of been what Rumble 98 was for Austin.

I was drawn back in a little after I caught the clip of Bryan finally laying into the Wyatt Family. The crowd was insane. He could have started a riot if he was of the mind to. Already feeling good about the prospects of the WWE Network, I figured I'd follow that up by watching the Rumble and build-up to Mania... and then, that happened. Yeah, I'm gonna ***** for a minute. :o

Our hatred brings us together.

This is probably where Vince and co feel they have won, by getting old fans out of the woodwork to see what all the fuss about last night was about, despite all our displeasure about the product, something tells me that tonight's Raw ratings will be pretty good and that's what the wwe only cares about.

It might get some older fans who grew tried to take a peak, but when they do something like they did last night then you just reinstate why we stopped in the first place. I still haven't seen a Raw since 2012, and was very interested in the idea of the WWE network. After last night though I think I'll save my money for the time being.

Source: PWInsider

- Kevin Nash is not at RAW tonight and is not written into any plans going forward. His Royal Rumble appearance was a one-time appearance.

- WWE NXT Diva Lana is backstage at tonight's RAW. She's the valet for Alexander Rusev but was not used at the Royal Rumble last night. WWE creative has been going back and forth on whether or not Rusev will be on RAW tonight.

- Vince McMahon issued an edict this afternoon that the script for tonight's RAW needed to be heavily tweaked due to the crowd reaction at last night's pay-per-view.

Writers were still working on changes about two hours ago. One source noted that Vince was not changing the script because of the negative reaction to Batista and the John Cena vs. Randy Orton match, but "in spite of it."

The new script reportedly is a vast improvement from the original direction
