The Wrestling Thread's Never Been So Disgusted With a PPV... - Part 139

If all of these rumors of the WWE not giving a damn about Bryan been a red herring, he would have been in the Rumble match and won or have come close to winning. He wasn't even in the match, and I thought he would be.

I don't care if I get banned for saying this, but if that is in reference to my comments, you're an idiot.

Why? Why are you so ashamed to be a fan? Because people, I don't know, WANT to see their chosen superstar in the top spot and won't accept anything less? PEOPLE WANT BRYAN. It's that simple. Really, tonight was the equivalent of Ultimate Warrior coming into the Rumble in 1998 and wins it instead of Austin. You still want to be a McMahon apologist?

If the WWE wasn't burying Bryan, why wasn't he in the Rumble match?

If WWE had any sort of confidence in Bryan, why wasn't he in the Rumble? Even if he didn't win it still would've showed they *like* him.

IF Vince doesn't want Daniel in the main event scene and especially not to headline a WM then fine that's another issue but I'm pissed that he wasn't in the rumble match at all,Him losing to Bray in the opening match with a concussion storyline and not involved in the rumble is a huge insult to him and his fans when he's the hotter person in the roster right now.

He's supposed to be facing Sheamus at WM and so what does his concussion story has to do with that and why couldn't his match be set up during the rumble where Sheamus eliminates him or something??

Bray winning the feud sucks too

As much as I wouldn't be hyped for Bryan/Sheamus(if that's the plan set and stone), it will no doubt be the one match the crowd is most invested into.

Time for me to go make a parody video of the fat angry wrestling fan kid.

I can understand Bray winning to build him up, but since Bryan didn't come out to at least try to win the Rumble, it made AmDrag look like a chump.

I think Bray kinda needed the win, but yeah not having any sort of redemption of by coming out in the Rumble is just beyond stupid.

I'm ashamed to be a wrestling fan now because it's gotten to the point where other fans think they're so entitled to having things done their way that it's ruined my own personal enjoyment of wrestling.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with Batista winning the Rumble. I say this not only as a fan of his, but also as a long-time fan of wrestling in general, and yet other fans and people like Mick Foley are acting like they've been handed an egregious personal slight just because the producers of what is essentially a gigantic 'reality show' didn't change the pre-determined outcome of said 'reality show' on a whim.

I've not always agreed with decisions that the WWE has made, but there's a significant difference between disagreement and obnoxious hate-fueled behavior, and all this whining has reached the point where it's become the latter.

i was there shouting 'i strongly disagree with this decision' when rey came out but no 1 was listening

So...I assume you are going to stop watching WWE all together now? Because this **** is gonna continue until WWE realizes they can't run with Batista and Orton as the main event.

Honestly, as someone who personally hates hypocrites, I really dislike on how much of a two-faced company the WWE is at the moment.

We've had Triple H and other "authoritative" figures go on about how the biggest selling point in making yourself the "IT" factor of the company relied mostly on how well the crowd responds to you.

At the end of the day, you could be one of the best pure athletes that the business has to offer, but if the audience isn't invested in you, then you won't get far. That's the excuse that we've heard people give on why some stars never get over.

And sure enough, we have Daniel coming into the scene and proving that he's both a tremendously skilled athlete, and more importantly, is able to get over with the fans. In fact, as anyone would know now, he draws the biggest reactions from the crowds out of anyone else currently in the locker room.

And yet despite all of this....the push and focus that he should have gotten as a result of this...the thing that would have been BEST for business...was all pretty much given to individuals who have not even come close to proving on why they deserve the push that they're getting now over Daniel Bryan.

At the end of the day, the WWE just reveals itself to be a company where the only real way you'll ever get over in the business is if you're good at kissing the boss's ass or if you're great friends with influential people as well.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if in 20 years from now, a wrestler gets a large push in the company after sleeping with one of Triple H's daughters (that'd be karma for him).

Heck, the only person that I actually respect from the group of wrestler who keep receiving non-stop fame and fortune is John Cena because based on everything that I've heard about him outside of the ring, he's definitely a much better person than the likes of Hogan, Batista, Nash, Orton, or Triple H.

So...I assume you are going to stop watching WWE all together now?

We'll see. It's the behavior of other fans that I have a problem with, but I'm hoping that the product itself will be able to counteract the disgust I feel with regards to that behavior.

On another note...man, suddenly the unification of the World Titles seems like it was a bad idea...well at least at the moment.lol

If we still had two world titles going on, there would have been a greater chance that we could have gotten Daniel to have competed for one of them (the available one) for WM. Heck, we could just have had Batista's RR Victory match at WM be the opening match, and have Daniel's one be the actual main event.lol

You know that wouldn't happen,IF the world heavyweight championship was still a separated title it'd still be a mid card prop title,IF Daniel went for that one then he still wouldn't be headlining for the main championship

"Sigh"...true :csad:

Man, I can't even root for Batista since I'm not a fan of his personally or professionally. He comes off as *****ey in real life as he does in his character.

Is it wrong that I'm hoping that people will be throwing confetti and stuff at Batista's match at WM?lol

I'd like to see on how the production team, Vince, and the Commentators would try to justify what the fans are doing if it got that bad.

I want people to throw trash like WCW's crowds during some nWo moments!

Man, imagine how bad it would have gotten if they had done the RR in front of the ECW crowd that we normally got from the "One Night Stand" PPV's.

I think people would have started attacking Batista after he won.

I'll ask you a question since you're so insistent on being a McMahon apologists, Why should the audience have to watch and grit their teeth because the top brass want to stroke their own egos?

In ANY business, the customer is right and the audience WANTS Bryan to have that light at the end of the tunnel but they refuse to give it to them. The audience has a right to make themselves heard since WWE brought it on themselves by slapping their own audience in the face for several PPVs back to back.

If the audience doesn't get their point across that they have chosen their guy then where does it end? When the WWE have turned ALL their fans away? The audience is handing them a booklet on the right thing to do here but WWE ignores it time and time again because they look down on their audience? They deserve the "obnoxious" behavior they get towards their crappy decisions for insulting their audience's intelligence

went to a royal rumble party won $2 on the cena/orton match (called pinfall with shenanigans) but lost $5 in the royal rumble pool we had going. I had entrant 19, 9, and, 29. I was really upset when batista came out at 28 and not 29.

On to the topic feel bad for mysterio cause he got the "you're not bryan" boos which he doesn't deserve. I did like hoe Orton responded to the bryan chants in his match that "don't give a @@@@ attitude woorked for his character. I don't mind the wyatt's gimmick much anymore, but hate that Bryan had to eat ANOTHER pin from Bray. Absolutely pointless. Not only was bryan winning the rumble dream squashed but so was my "shield vs. wyatts" dream crushed. Awful PPV with no payoff

What they're doing with Bryan would've been like them refusing to push Austin despite overwhelming fan support.

Its mind boggling Bryan is not being allowed to carry the company because he's not big enough. Its Christian Cage all over again.

Mick Foley's recent FB post about his disappointment:

"As I mentioned on Twitter, I've never felt so disgusted at the conclusion of a WWE (or any) PPV. Like many of you out there, I just don't get it. This Daniel Bryan thing is a phenomenon. You get it. I get it. The fans in Pittsburgh (yes, I was thinking of writing 'RIGHT TH...but I'm just not in a cheap pop mood) got it. But tonight, for the first time, I had to admit to myself that the powers that be are just not going to get it. And that makes me sad. I'm just honestly sad, just flat out f-cking sad (yes, I dropped an F-bomb there to emphasize how F'ing sad I am for the guys who bust their butts night in and night out - Ziggler, Punk, Bryan, etc - with no hope of getting their shot at this year's Mania.

"You know who else I'm sad for? Me. In my two years as an official WWE Ambassador, I never once had to lie about my enthusiasm for the company or the product. Now, although I am no longer officially an Ambassador for WWE (believe it or not, my only official role in WWE is as GM for Saturday Morning Slam, a contract that ends in one month) I was till looking forward to being part of the biggest event of the year. I'll probably end up going anyway. But I'm about 1/6th as excited about it as I was just a few hours ago. I wanted so badly to hear 75,000 WWE fans chanting 'YES' - and seeing fans walk away absolutely ecstatic about the outcome of a PPV for the first time in a while...a long while. But when given the chance to make it happen (unless they've got something MAJOR up their sleeve) WWE's answer tonight was a resounding 'NO, NO, NO'."
