WWE Planning Cena vs The Rock For The Title? How CM Punk Fits In

According to F4WOnline.com, WWE is considering a scenario in which CM Punk would drop the WWE Title to John Cena at SummerSlam, to setup a Title bout between Cena and The Rock at The Royal Rumble.

The Rock would go over in the match against Cena, and then go onto face CM Punk at WrestleMania 29 for the WWE Championship.

I'd actually be OK with Punk dropping the title at SS if they go the safe route and have say... Cena pin Show. Punk can claim that he never lost, go on to win the RR and beat Rock at Mania.

If what I've read before is true and Punk and Rock are "tight" I can see Rock putting Punk over no problem.

If that happens, Cena needs to win the match against the Rock, and Punk should face Undertaker, preferably winning.

Very unlikely in my opinion. It may be the same situation like it was back when Carlito and Cena were feuding over the U.S. title back in late 2004, where Cena had just won the U.S. title again from Carlito but for storyline purposes, was attacked and didn't show up until Armageddon (with the spinner U.S title)

Its stupid to job Cena to Rock TWICE. If Cena jobs to anyone it should be someone like Ziggler or Bryan who need it. Much more valuable use of his time. If WWE wants Rock to put Punk over they need to find another way to do it.

If Cena takes the belt off Punk at some point it'd be great if he dropped it to Ziggler at Mania. Rock could face Punk at Mania and lose. Cena/Rock/Punk should be broken up in a way that two top guys put over guys who are underneath them.

The top guy shouldn't be always jobbing to a part timer after he already did it once and neither Cena or Punk should be. Its stupid that Cena be asked to give back MORE than Rock even though Cena is the one always there busting his ass. Sounds like godd*** WCW booking during the darkest days.

I remember that I thought he would return at some point and if he was still alive we might of seen him return at the 1000th Raw. They should just induct the entire Poffo family in the HOF if that's what it takes to get Macho in there.

If they can put ALL of the Von Erichs in there's no reason they can't put all the Poffos in. Just get it over with, Vince so Savage can get his due.

True Fritz and their World Class promotion did more for the business than Angelo Poffo and his promotion did but only some of the Von Erich boys really did anything of note and Savage was more famous more successful and just flat out better than all the Von Erichs combined. I'd argue that even Leapin Lanny is more well known than most of the Von Erichs.

The HOF is a kind of a mess. I think the highest honor is headlining. At this point anyone who's appeared on television in association with wrestling is eligible. So I don't have any problem with certain inductions. It's more of an issue who they keep out.

Also I was more familiar with Lanny than the Von Erichs growing up. They always have a few vague people for these ceremonies though.

I actually agree. Once in a lifetime was enough as I've said b4. I'd rather them not do it again, but if they do, Cena should lose again because I feel like if Rock jobs to anyone it should be to somebody like Ziggler or Bryan or Punk who needs it. Ditto. I'd rather see it as a face because we need another top face instead of just Cena's overexposed ass. Doubt the WWE would be cool enough to let that happen tho.

Punk was asked if he could work with anyone, who would it be and Punk said Samoa Joe. Punk was also asked which wrestler from an independent company he would like to see in the WWE. Punk said Samoa Joe again. The fan said that Samoa Joe works for TNA and Punk said something like, “I know. You said indy didn’t you?”

CM Punk said his match against Daniel Bryan at Over The Limit was probably his favorite match of 2012.

Someone asked Punk what he thought about facing Bryan in a submission match and Punk said he would love for that to happen.

Its stupid to job Cena to Rock TWICE.

Something we actually agree on.

It's simply pointless for Cena to lose to Rock twice because it does nothing for either of them. At least with Rock's win at WM 28, it could set up another match for Cena to be put over and plus if it's for the title as it was thought of being in WM 28 would only add to it more for Cena to win.

I prefer the route of Rock>Punk for the title at RR and then Cena>Rock for the title at WM.

Punk SHOULD keep the title this Sunday; if he loses it and we get this new idea of Rock>Cena at RR, then it would make no sense whatsoever. And if we get Rock/Cena III at WM 29 with Punk not even in the picture, it would make even less sense. That feud shouldn't try to be Rock/Austin for crying out loud.

If the Rock is WWE Champion at the Rumble, there is no way in hell that he'll defend his title in an Elimination Chamber match. His Hollywood people are not going to let the WWE put him inside the Chamber. One of two things will happen: either a #1 contenders Elimination Chamber match and the winner of that match faces the Rock at Wrestlemania 29 or the Rock doesn't win the WWE Championship at the Rumble, enters the Rumble match himself and faces the winner of the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber at WM 29.

Of course, if a Raw guy wins the Rumble, it could screw up the Raw Elimination Chamber. As much as I don't like the Rock winning the WWE Title at the Rumble, him winning the title will give the Elimination Chamber a lot of intrigue, with many possible scenarios.
