I forgot all about that.

Yes, the dullness of Bryan choking out Roberts was so unconvincing that it got him fired. There's no intensity there :whatever:

At least Punk is still selling merchandise pretty good!

Oh MITB had 20% increase in buys from last year, but is that enough for Vince to view it as a success?

Hard to say.

If the show WAS up 20 percent thats pretty good considering WWE's B ppvs have been steadily LOSING buys for years. Punk, Cena and co. not only stemmed the tide but pulled it up some.

Not even Austin turned the tide in one month. Took 2 years to turn things around.

But knowing Vince and how irrational he is he might just say "I tolja so" since the buyrate didn't double...even though he's been driving viewers away with his poor decisions for the past decade.

SummerSlam's buy rates should be da*n interesting!

Bryan spitting on Cena and yelling "Your not better than me!" was so not intense.

I put the milk bath above the beer bath because Kurt is awesome and the ring was full of people

I think it's funny how he shot it straight into the air at one point, guaranteeing more fans would get hit with it.

As for PPV buys , How well did Capitol Punishment and Over the Limit perform?

I think Daniel has the look to be intense,Just drop his smile&cheerfulness and make him serious/intense&aggressive and he could easily be like serious heel or tweener Arn Anderson/Dean Malenko/Regal/Benoit and Kurt Angle!!

Over the Limit was the absolute worst drawing WWE ppv of the last five years so...not well at all.

Miz vs Cena did about 65,000 buys. At least Punk and Cena can cay they did a lot better than that.

No idea about Capitol Punishment.

I think paring down to 8 or even 6 PPVs a year would work...that way you have two months to build up storylines and feuds

Wrestlemania draws a lot on name brand alone. A PPV like MITB doesn't have that. Wrestlemania is the one sure fire PPV a lot of people WILL buy no matter WHO is on the card or whats going on. Its the show with the absolute grandest spectacle.

Using it is a poor example.

UFC is a different animal. No wrestling stigma, its a hot property right now while wrestling isn't, and its something mainstream sports fans can get into. Wrestling isn't doing that right now. Even if a good new top guy comes along you can't expect them to turn all that around OVERNIGHT.

A football fan can't automatically brush UFC off as easily because it isnt guys "fake fighting." Compared to wrestling its much more acceptable for so called "real men."
Alright then. Lets just say this then. Extreme Rules 200,000+ Buys with the guy you love to hate on in the main event. Capital Punishment did 170,000 buys with R-Truth in the main event. All im saying is with that hot of angle, MITB should have done at least 195k.

I agree. That actually seems to be the consensus among many fans. its just that WWE is unwilling to leave that money they think they can make. But their thinking is so narrow minded on this.

Most people aren't going to buy every ppv...not at that price. So some will be skipped over. Fewer ppv's could concivable result in more buys if they do what you said. They have to keep the price reasonable though. Don't jack up each ppv 20 extra bucks to compensate.

How much money do they make from attendance though?

It's probably just as bad. The WWE has been on a downslope but it looks like that woke them up a bit. At least MITB didn't bomb.

Im sure the WWE has some ridiculous standard regarding their PPVs that are NOT Wrestlemania

Since OTL did the worst buys in the last half decade it seems like most people got fairly sick of "the guy I love to hate on" or they realized Cena vs Miz was a match that just wasn't worth it.

Extreme Rules was the ppv right after Wrestlmania. That slot almost ALWAYS seems to do well and has since Backlash since it follows up on Wrestlemania rivalries.

Capitol Punishment still did lower than MITB didn't it?

Considering the slot MITB and Punk and Cena were put in it did very well. We can't really say it "should have" done this or that without looking at the trends. Since most PPVS are steadily losing buys an increase like that is still impressive. Got to stop the bleeding before things get better.

Yeah the angle was hot but the whole industry is in a slump...in a weak economy. An increase for a B ppv seems pretty impressive to me when most of them are losing buys. maybe the hot angle actually did do some good.

Like I said you can't have expectations for things to turn around so easily overnight.
