What were the OTL numbers?
The estimate at the time was 65,000 domestic buys.
What were the OTL numbers?
OTL did do bad but it didn't do as bad as your saying. 140k is bad but it's not the 65,000 your saying. Also Extreme Rules had increases of both 30k. So since Punk had the hotter angle shouldn't he have also brought the buys up at least 30k. He only did 20k.
Yeah I mean I know it was free in the UK but I expected a better buyrate. I'm going to enjoy Punk's push while it lasts.
I didn't know that MITB wasn't available in the UK so that did effect buyrates. I wasn't splitting hairs at all. I though MITB was available in the uk so that included those buys as well. Also yes, were in a weak economy but when people want to order something they'll buy it. Also Many of us in this thread were expecting a much higher buyrate than that even in the states. If im feeling that way I know Vince is also. We'll see how the Summerslam results are. They'll be telling of how Punk is doing as draw. Can he be a Cena type draw or a Orton type draw.I only said DOMESTIC buys. I pointed that out remember. I never said anything about international. is the 140,000 the worldwide buys or what? Thats why I asked you!
Punk had a hot angle and the buyrate DID go up. You're splitting hairs by saying it should have done this instead of that. It went up when most ppv's have been trending DOWN. Thats better than most PPV's. You do realize we are in a weak economy right now so whos to say what people are going to be spending on depending on whats going on.
I also said according to Dave Meltzer there may be some statistical data missing when comparing the MITB vs ER buyrates that skews things unfairly in ER's favor.
Maybe you should wait until al the final data comes out before you say for sure what happened with which ppv since MITB is the newest estimate.
Im tripping. I meant to say Capital Punishment only did a little worse than MITB.

Hmm, I just read that MITB was free in the UK. So I guess that impacted buyrates also. Didn't know that. So I guess MITB did a very good domestic number.
He also drew a very high buyrate with Extreme Rules.
His Buyrate did much better than year before though. You wanna keep saying that but the ppv still went up. You keep saying he did the worse buys in five years well give him some ****ing credit here then.
How's the ratings on Raw since MITB when Punk has matches or promos?

The Rock left the night after WM. He wasn't advertised at all for Extreme Rules. The Miz and John Cena came off a very bad main event at WM28. We were in a bad economy. People had streams. Yadda yadda. So shouldn't the buyrate went down? They were interested in the ****ing Rock so shouldn't have buyrates went down or at least not went way like they did? Interest may have been up but that doesnt mean people are shell out money unless they wanna watch. The Miz in the main event got the buy rate to go higher. Your not gonna give him credit cause you hate him. Whatever but him helping out a buyrate is no different from Punk but yet your praising Punk but discounting The Miz.That whole period did better than last year. Interest was up because of the lead in and post Wrestlemania period. I'd attribute a LOT of that to the Rock for getting people more interested. Then it slowly fell off again. You say give him credit well once the Rock effect died down Miz couldn't keep people buying. Not all his fault but he didn't help either.
not enough to be noticeable....there have been upticks since Punk has been thrust into the main event, but its not anything that is drawing NEW viewers on a steady basis
I think if he legit left the WWE for say 3-4 weeks, did some appearances, and aired some of the WWEs dirty laundry....THAT would have gotten people interested
Your saying all this yet your discounting the miz?An increase in an increase and thats CERTAINLY better than a decrease or drawing the same don't you think? Especially after other PPV's have seen significant drops.
People can't ALWAYS afford to buy something when they really want it. Considering Punks MITB saw an increase right now its impressive. Especially since as you say the UK didn't even pay for it. That makes it more impressive.
As for Summerslam it depends on how the two champions angle was bought. I have a feeling the buyrate will be down but who knows. A lot of people could have felt Cena was going to win and not bothered or that Punk wouldn't be walking out of the PPV as champ...which he didn't.
