Totally forgot this was happening. In light of the success of ‘Sinners’, I can’t wait to see what Coogler has cooked up.

I found out recently about this, and now I'm super curious.

I'm both very excited for this but also very anxious about all the different pitfalls they could step into.

Sign me up for more X-Files in the sense that we get government agents investigating paranormal cases with shadowy conspirators working in the background and throwing wrenches in their cogs halting any progress they make. Hopefully a spooky foggy atmosphere like the Vancouver-seasons of the original show, and a healthy mix of monster of the week episodes with a few story centric that tells a longer arc over multiple episodes spread out among the rest.

As hyped as I would be to see Gillian or David return, I think that's probably the biggest dilemma. I think we should have 2 younger leads and while I'm all on board with either of them returning I think its best to avoid the fan service "hey we have these guys back working these cases again" that made the revival feel awkward. If you can find a good reason to bring them back then do it but otherwise don't lean on the old days.

When this all started, David & Gillian WERE the younger leads!

If we're just playing theoretical and throwing out fun ideas.

With Mulder I think you either make him the new Deep Throat/X OR serving a similar role to the Lone Gunmen (depending on how much you want to include Duchovny of course). I don't know it never really worked for me to have a 60 year old Duchovny as Mulder still cracking away at the 'entry level' X-files work after decades of exposing the government and even shadowy figures within the bureau itself. Like it just feels wrong to have him back to his old desk doing the same work he did 30 years earlier when he was looking for the truth. Have him in the mentor role, someone who will help our leads with their case or give backstory when needed. He'd be great at that. Of course he would be the guy spilling the beans to some younger agents hoping they could continue his work, it makes sense.

With Scully I think she probably got off better career wise because she didn't burn every bridge behind her as she dove into these cases. You could do a multitude of things but I kinda like the idea of her now having the position that Skinner had in the original run. Have her be the assistant director who is the boss of the new agents. I think similar to Skinner she could walk that fine line between helping our agents but also keeping them in line. She's been in that position and she knows the game. I think that's what made Skinner so special as a character, that you somehow always doubted his intentions because he played things by the book but at the end of it you knew he had their back.
