As unreliable of a source as he's proved to be in the past it is still worth noting:

Speaking at a Q&A following Collider’s exclusive IMAX preview screening of Deadpool, producer Simon Kinberg—who is essentially the overseer of Fox’s superhero universe—was asked whether there were any other specific properties he could envision being R-rated:

“I think there are some stories that could be R-rated. I don’t know what they are, I mean I think the mainline X-Men movies have their own tone, which is a more operatic tone. It’s more dramatic, it is more PG-13 in a way. X-Force I could see being R-rated, and who knows?”

Rob Liefeld was quick to point out that Kinberg’s last bit there would become a headline (and, as evidenced by this article, it has!), so the producer clarified he’s not saying X-Force will be Rated-R, but it could be:

“I’m saying I could imagine a universe in which [X-Force is R-rated].”

Yeah, it's not like Kinberg is the one who has final say like Emma Watts or Jim Gianopulos. If either of them said, "Hey, I really liked Deadpool and it's making us a lot of money. I guess you guys were right all along and a rated-R X-Force is no longer out of the question.", then I think we could be more excited for it.

Of course, I think that'll all depend on the success of Deadpool 2.

Kinbergs been said to have alot to do with Deadpool finally getting made with the studio. So he has some pull. But I don't think any studio head will have to question this more then 1 second. They are probably asking for far more then Deadpool 2 and X-Force.

Anyone who is actually stopping X-Force from getting made would be a odd at this point. The whole Deadpool team wants it R and it will make the studio money. More so then most their other films.

he's more creative figurehead than someone really helping to run the show.without singer around he failed all around with FF.I seriously doudt he has that much say in spin-offs.
and on DOFP and Apocalypse it was clearly singer calling the shots.

I doubt it tbh as i bet there is only one person who is getting the blame for FF and its not kinberg

Not that I don't think Kinberg has zero influence over at Fox, it's just that his quote in general, the initial timing of it and how there are others above him who make those calls don't necessarily get me all hyped up.

I do think that after Deadpool an rated-R X-Force is more likely than not though. If the Matrix can do it, so can the X-Men.

The only thing that I can see that gave Matrix it's R is the soundtrack drops f bombs. Little blood in the violence from what I remember.

The issue with Kinberg is that he seems to want to appear to be more in the know than what he really is. Let's make no mistake, I'm pretty certain he is in the dog house after FF.

Not so much talking creatively but he's the guy who the creative team is going to on the production side of things. He'll be instrumental on supporting the films Miller and Reynolds want and helping get made what they want on screen. I'd argue he's becoming like Donner for films in the series.

For real? I hope Tim Miller gets his wish, after the breakout success of Deadpool.

With success of the Deadpool movie. I think Tim Miller, screenwriters and rest of cast can do whatever they want to do. If he wants X-23 he will get it, specially with Hugh as Wolverine in Deadpool not happening. I could see joke by Deadpool to studio during movie that he was hyped and expected to fight with real Wolverine.

My trust in Kinberg is shaky after X3 and Fantastic Four. Also this:

“I am proud of it. It’s not a disaster. It’s a good movie," he told EW. "....I’m happy with the way that it turned out." Director Josh Trank has remained the focus of speculation about his on-set behavior, and Kinberg has rallied to the filmmaker's defense.

He's got some pretty cool films under his belt as producer (Elysium, the last two X-Men movies, The Martian, Deadpool) and he co-wrote the first Sherlock Holmes, which was a great flick IMO, so...

IMO, that roster sounds awful. Cable and Domino are the only ones I care to see and I guess Deadpool as I prefer his onscreen adapation better than the comic.
