These fools are already planning FF2 to be set up before the first has even begun production? What. Why do people think X-Force is unlikely now?
Dark times are upon us if this comes to pass. It's going to be X-Men vs. Fantastic Four.

I still don't get why everyone is so down on that idea? Seriously, the abject pessimism makes ZERO sense to me.
I think the secret film will be a final OT X-Men.
We'll see a revived Jean & Cyke at the end of DOFP, setting up a new future with the entire team back together.
Then, X-Men: Apocalypse will show the 80s team dealing with the Egyptian evil, maybe with an end credits that shows him being awoken in the future. Then we get a solo Wolverine film. And at the end or in the credits he gets back with the X-Men and we see the OT duke it out with a revived Apocalypse in an massive finale to the entire saga.
Think this way: Do we really need a X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover?
I don't mind them sharing the same universe, but we don't need a crossover movie. There's a lot of potential teams to explore, like X-Force, X-Factor...
I would be OK with it if it was Avengers vs. X-Men though, but X-Men and Fantastic Four?

Do we really need ANY movie? Hint, the answer is no, so that's not really a convincing argument against this one.
Your "we don't need any movie" argument is just as (if not more) unconvincing. We litteraly don't need this movie to move the X-Men storyline forward or the F4. If you want to go into detail on how it would be better then doing other solos for the characters and X-Men fans then please do. But mashing them together is not required to tell their stories, nor will it ever be. People want more X-Men focus not less, and solo movies without other superheros taking up their screen time are required for that. Fnatstic Four only have 4 key members to focus on. They will have plenty of time in their own film to get their focus. X-Men on the other hand have dozens of key members, who need as many films as possible in order to get their shared time. It's the biggest complaint with the franchise. So why make it worse?
You want it? That's fine. But People don't need to be sheep and just accept everything a studio throws at us. Especially when the F4 will have had their time in 2 films and we are still waiting for solid screen time/introductions on numerous key X-men and X-Force members.
There are rumors flying around fueled by Rob Liefeld that Fox's mystery 2018
film will be X-force.
X-Force not a rumour, script complete, paid for by Fox. Excellent. RT @CBR: What Is Fox's Mystery Marvel Movie? http://on.cbr.cc/1dKDVKz
Fox has made a HUGE financial investment in X-Men Days of Future Past in order to catch Disney/Marvel branded films....This has given Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg greater importance and voices within the framework of X-Men development going forward.
The good news is that X-Men DOFP success will yield more X-Films and by attrition alone, Cable, Deadpool and X-Force will eventually emerge
Also, there is serious movement in the executive suites at Fox, a new boss will soon emerge and hopefully he/she will realize that...
Both Deadpool and X-Force are valuable IP's that a studio like Universal or Paramount would pay top dollars to acquire on their schedule.
No guarantee at all RT @SomewhatHolmes: But Deadpool and X-Force will EVENTUALLY be films right? @robertliefeld
Just speaking truth RT @SomewhatHolmes: @robertliefeld Damn. I had high hopes for Deadpool.. Thanks for the info man. Keep up the good work!
Are you freaking kidding me? Did NOT! RT @bleedingcool: Liefeld Says Fox's Mystery Marvel Movie Is X-Force http://bcool.bz/ORJZe8
Stating it again, to further dis-credit @bleedingcool i have in no way shape or form mentioned X-Force film happening. Doesn't exist.
Thank you RT @bleedingcool: Apologies to @robertliefeld. I misread his tweet. Took "not a rumour" incorrectly. killed the story.
