There should be policy where the mods PM a user when they delete their thread

In all the time I've been here I have had so many threads deleted that I don't even consider "why" any more.

But the other day I was looking through my post history for a very spcific thread that I had made recently only to find it had vanished.

Would have been nice if the Mod who removed it had told me. This should be a policy.

Which thread ? I took a look at your profile and you have several in the trash can from the last 2 weeks.

Don't tease me. I know you mods like to do that.

If so many of your threads are getting deleted, perhaps you should think about why they're getting deleted, and how you can make better threads. Most threads that get deleted have legitimate reasons, and I'm sure if you ask why they were deleted, you'll get a straight answer.

I trashed one thread because it was something you shouldn't had posted and another one you should had the common sense posting a link to a site that had words that are censor in here. Could had gave you a infraction for that but let it slide

What do my threads have to do with this proposed policy?

Simple, you're asking for a policy that would've informed you as to why your threads were trashed, and these guys are trying to give you your answers in the fashion they're normally delivered. Most people don't have too many questions about why their threads get trashed, so why should they PM everyone and create more work for themselves?

No, not why, when.

I don't care about why my past threads were deleted. I'm talking about a very simple policy where the mod PM's the user to let them know the thread is gone.

I don't really see why that would be necessary. Yes it would be "nice" but why should they waste their time doing it?

Most of the time I simply lock it and leave it up in the board for a day or two to let the person know that thread was lock and if it's a duplicate one I usually either leave a link or merge it.
I can't PM every user I lock and trash a thread, you have no idea how many user make repeat threads without checking
for if a thread already up. On a single day I have to lock/merge around 20 to 40 threads, been a few times I had twice that :(

I agree, I mod should delete unnecessary threads but they should also PM the creator as to why they deleted it so they don't make more useless threads.

I usually just put them on thread probation and then don't worried about him making any new threads

Nice grammar. :o But seriously, Morg you can't just put them on a probation... being a Mod doesn't mean you get to misuse your powers. With great power comes great responsibility. N'est-ce pas? So instead of taking it to a probation after they post a million uneeded threads, just tell them what they did wrong in the first place.

sorry I can, if a user makes too many pointless threads then thread probation is warranted or a banning-depends on the user and past history

So what if you can? If some guy on the street picked up a gun and didn't know what it was, and shot me in the foot, I'm not gonna just take the bullet out and act like nothing happened. Cause then he'll shoot me again and I'll kill him. You gotta teach the guy how to use a gun, it can deliver you a delicious meal or kill you. As a mod, you should teach us what we do wrong. You're like our parents on the Hype, and if that's too much responsibility for you then I pity you, home boy and I feel bad for everyone you've ever banned (unless they posted porn)

Oh yeah a question for the mods. What is this new infraction thing about?
