I've seen a couple of folks rolling their eyes at the possibility of Daniel Bryan VS Kane for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at Extreme Rules, but I'm actually onboard with the idea.

So am I. It helps strengthen Bryan as champion, if he gets a string of successful title defences against credible, though not spectacular, challengers at minor PPVs. Best case scenario it is Kane, then Orton, then Batista, then Triple H at a major PPV, then a HUGE program vs. Lesnar where Bryan might actually lose the title.

The match may not be a 5-star classic, but Daniel Bryan has got some Kane's best work in years out of him in the past, so it has every chance of at least being good. And I think you could make a strong story out of it, what with Daniel Bryan and Kane formerly being partners and friends.

Another possibility, given the persistent rumours that this could be Kane's final run with the company and he's been preparing for his exit for a while now, is that this could be set up as one last hurrah for Kane, where if he fails to beat Daniel Bryan and become champion one more time, he's going to hang it up and retire. It ties neatly into the allusions made on Raw last week from Stephanie that he had been a disappointment to The Authority, and he needed to start delivering... or else.

Very true. I still don't see him winning the belt from Bryan. Even if it is for his "one last run".

WWE announced the following today:

"WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan's (Bryan Danielson's) father has unexpectedly passed away. Bryan was made aware of his father's passing after returning from his honeymoon with Brie Bella. Despite the news, Bryan has insisted on performing for the WWE Universe tonight (April 21) and will be on Raw. WWE extends our deepest condolences to Bryan and his family."

That's really heartbreaking news. Bryan's father can't be that old. Though he was never featured on the Journey To Wrestlemania documentary, I thought I saw a couple of shots of him in the background with his mother, so it's comforting to know that his father lived to see his son reach the pinnacle of his chosen profession and to see him get married. But still, a tragic end to what was a milestone couple of weeks for Bryan. I think people would have understood if he'd taken the night off, but major respect to him for still choosing to go out and perform for his fans. Thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family in this difficult time.

Out of those sets, I'll probably end up getting Sting/Brothers of Destruction and maybe the Heyman set. Not sure about the Batista one...

Do you guys have friends that pick on you for liking wrestling? It seems most of my friends can't stand it haha. It kinda baffles me their reasons for not liking it, but whatever. Even on the internet... It seems like comic books and wrestling should have somewhat of a similar fanbase, but I guess not.

This has to be the most emotional month of Daniel Bryan's life. To have two such incredible highs in such a short amount of time and then such a devasting low must be insane. It is very admirable of him to still want to perform, but I haope he takes the rest of the week off to grieve.

Agreed. I really hope that the WWE doesn't take the cheap route of using his father's death as part of a angle like they did when Jerry's mom passed away.

With Batista taking time off after Extreme Rules, this would essentially disband the newly reformed Evolution. What do you think the chances are that Triple H tries to recruit a replacement for the Animal? Maybe he uses the vacant spot to try and split up The Shield?
