It is interesting (and somewhat exciting) that we know almost nothing about the sequel. There’s been a few leaks and stories about potential characters that might turn out to be true but nothing concrete from the most reliable sources if I’m remembering correctly.

I hope this is true but would be surprised because, based on the little we’ve heard so far, I wouldn’t have guessed they were at the casting stage yet. Plus, castings typically aren’t announced at SDCC.

However, if they are in pre-production already, it might mean they are going to start shooting very early in the year (Jan/Feb), to allow Fraser to shoot Dune later in 2025.

All I'll say is it would be nice to hear something concrete about the movie... but I won't be disappointed if Reeves holds back on casting announcements until the latter half of this year.

Has casting ever been announce without being leaked before hand? It rarely does because it's hard to keep these things a secret so I find this one difficult to believe. Given that this is batman, it's even harder.

I won't even comment on the source because we all know it more misses then hits. But this is only a few weeks away so we will know soon enough. But typically we would have heard other people talking about it online if it was true.

If Grace told me the sun will rise tomorrow I’d still wake up at dawn to verify. However, since we’re like six-eight months from filming I’d be shocked if they hadn’t done some casting they could announce if they wanted. I’d assume with the kind of names they’ve gone for thus far you need to nail that down way in advance.

Most of the cast members in The Batman were announced like 3-4 months before filming so that's another reason I'm not fully buying this.

I still think announcing closer to the release of the penguin or during its run makes the most sense. It would be a great way to advertise that series. Things tend to get lost in the news cycle for Comicon so that's why it doesn't make sense.

Just an update, I saw one of those influencers on twitter got invited to some penguin thing at ComicCon. So they will have a presence, doesn't mean there is an announcement but that's probably where Grace got her info (if she was invited herself).

I don't think anyone wants him to have a Gunn level presence. That's for sure.

Can't begin to tell you how many times someone claims WB will make DC movie announcements at Comic-Con and nothing of the sort happens.

It historically isn't their bag, and a well-documented BS spreader like Grace Randolph being the source "helps."

If anything I could see a scenario like in July 2006. While Comic-Con was going on, Latino Review scooped that Heath Ledger was the Joker in the Batman Begins sequel and that was the talk of the entire convention.

Bill has posted two Batman: The Imposter related tweets in the last few days. The second possibly suggesting Detective Blair Wong will be a character.

Yeah Imposter was cool; a lot of that story could blend nicely with Batman: Prey too, which is what I’ve been hoping for.

And Blair Wong would be an interesting addition to this universe. She works better in Imposter because there’s no Gordon, and Batman needs an ally on the GCPD, but they could make some changes to make it work.

Highly suspect Jett is just spitballing but one of my main Actual Theories is the anti-corruption task force being made up of recognizable GCPD characters. Wouldn’t be surprised if Tomlin used his own.
