There are a few things that have happened in some of my fave DC books that I thought were crap, like everything they did to Jason Todd, I don't mean his death, I mean his return, that was so stupid, he just got killed off again anyway. That whole thing about Superboy prime bringing him back was ******ed. The whole thing was just dumb. That Hush Returns story was dumb too. I didn't mind the first Hush story arc but everything they did after was stupid, just like Bane, they had a great villian, a really interesting character, and then they messed him up after the Knightfall saga, I haven't read anything with him after KF, but I've heard some things that sound horrible.

I quit reading Batman when No man's land started, it just didn't seem like a Batman story and more of a 70's disaster movie story, I don't know, it just didn't seem right, and everything after that, that happened to Batman seemed off, I came back to Batman when OYL started and it's been getting better, the Kubert stuff is awesome, but I've heard what's happened to him over the years that I was away, sounds like a bunch of crap. Glad I wasn't around to see that happen to my fave Hero.

Putting Wally in Limbo and canceling his series, establishing Bart as the Flash, then killing Bart off and canceling his series, and then bringing Wally back.

It was another one of DC's pointless deaths. They should have just had Wally comeback during Infinite Crisis and had him be The Flash during one year later. Instead, DC pissed off Wally fans by not explaining what had happened to him, Barry fans for once again building their hopes up, and Bart fans who saw their hero die a tragic death which could have been prevented. They went through all this trouble to wind up exactly where they were two years ago.

Saying there's officially no multiverse, then inventing Hypertime and claiming it's not the same thing.

Amazons.

Attack.

The fact that they even had the gall...the fcking gall...to put Hippolyta in her Wonder Woman costume on the cover of Wonder Woman #9 -- the same costume that she wore to fight the Nazis and serve with the Justice Society of America and protect the country with her life -- and then in the same issue make her a crazy, ranting, megalomaniacal man-hating mass murdering petulant btch queen from hell who would throw spears at her own daughter.

These are the moments that make me realize comic book companies as a whole couldn't give a sht about their fans if their lives depended on it.

I think the main problem has do do with a simple equation that DC seems to have come up with... "Better Story=Higher Body count", but it's WRONG.

i'm not found of the idea of have too many events. it seems like every storyline is connected to the main event that affects the whole universe. It's like how the wwf is having pay-per-views everything month, when it use to be years ago just 4-6 pay-per-views a year.

I think 52 should have been done years ago,in terms of spotlighting the other characters of the DC universe besides Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman. Dc has a stigma of having just the "big three" and no other characters, when in reality, that's far from the truth. when in comes to marvel, they tend to spread out their attention to other heroes, but dc is doing the right thing as of late and showcasing other awesome heroes they have.

what they did to bart allen is a shame in which they threw him into the flash position without him really earning it. He could have become the Flash with time, but the idea of aging him quickly and then killing him off was not cool.I think DC was successful in creating a high demand for Wally, though it wasn't necessary, and for making the fans miss Bart Allen, who a few people were not fond of the creative writing because he had taken the Flash mantle so quickly.

Things I've had a problem with at DC recently:

- Turning Batgirl into a murderous villain, thereby invalidating pretty much everything about the character, then backtracking when they saw how angry fans were and claiming that Deathstroke was just drugging her, then having the drugs wear off and turning her into a murderous anti-hero, thereby invalidating everything about the character again. So, basically, everything that anyone has done with Batgirl since her series ended.

- Killing Conner Kent right when he was getting interesting.

- Resurrecting Kara Zor-El as an obnoxious *****ebag whose only mission in life initially appeared to be beating the crap out of every other hero she met.

- Turning Tim into an angsty, emo amalgam of Dick and Bruce. I ask you, why was it necessary to ruin everything unique about Tim that made him an even better Robin than either Dick or Jason were? It's ******ed.

- Giving Johns, Waid, Morrison, and Meltzer free reign to resurrect the Silver Age in its entirety.

- Resurrecting Jason Todd.

- Getting rid of the rich, interesting cast of characters from Gotham Central and replacing them with Commissioner Gordon and Harvey Bullock again. Bringing Gordon back to lead the GCPD? Fine. Focusing all interaction between Batman and the GCPD on Gordon and Bullock? Not so fine. Rucka and Brubaker built up a cast of characters better than most in comics in Gotham Central, and now they're being totally wasted simply because DC believes readers are too stupid to accept a GCPD without its familiar mascots Gordon and Bullock.

- Putting the Silver Age Legion back in Superman's history. I don't mind the Legion so much, but if they were gonna do it, couldn't they have at least maintained the New Earth timeline's consistency and used Waid's current Legion? The fact that Superman and Supergirl were each members of different Legions is just gonna lead to confusion later on, which'll probably inspire someone else to do more retcons down the line, and the whole thing'll just suck.

- Turning Captain Atom into an awe-inspiring badass in Captain Atom Armageddon, only to bring him back as a catatonic ****** in Battle for Bludhaven, then slap him in the Monarch armor and take him out of play for a whole year with his fans wondering whether he's good or bad, still himself or developing into the Monarch as he was supposed to do years ago, etc.

- Using Bart Allen as an ultimately pointless place-holder in the Flash legacy between Wally's disappearance and reappearance, with horrible writing and no mention of Wally's status for about a year. It was a disservice to Bart as a character and Wally's fans, and it made the people behind DC look like utter *****es who don't give a damn about their characters.

- Quite a lot of things going on with Wonder Woman. I don't like the secret agent angle, I don't like the fact that Picoult has made Wonder Woman seem like a moron when it comes to modern life, and I really don't like Amazons Attack or the fact that Hippolyta is now a villain and Artemis and Philippus are citing the ol' Nazi "just following orders" mantra.

- That Helmet of Fate Zauriel issue. What the **** was that about? Zauriel was barely even recognizable in it. Worse, that characterization of Zauriel as "Heaven's good soldier" has carried over into Shadowpact. Since when is Zauriel a good soldier who'll follow Heaven's orders--even if they require murder--without question? I miss the Zauriel of Morrison's JLA and Millar's Day of Judgment.

- Killing off Hector Hall, who had loads of potential to be an incredibly interesting Dr. Fate. Even more, I hated the fact that the stupid editorial mandate that Vertigo couldn't cross over with mainstream DC pretty much ruined a good portion of Hector's potential coolness, given that his son is Dream of the Endless. That also brings me to my next point...

- The way Johns has managed the characters of JSA. I enjoy JSA, don't get me wrong. But Johns has spent his entire run focusing on Stargirl, Mr. Terrific, Power Girl, and Dr. Mid-Nite for the most part, leaving other great members of the team out in the cold. The android Hourman, Sand, and Dr. Fate--some of my favorites on the JSA roster--have barely had a single arc where they played a major role. I didn't even know if Sand was still a member of the team for months.

- Killing off the android Hourman and making the Golden Age Hourman retire, leaving us with Rick Tyler, the very least that the Hourman legacy has to offer. This one's mitigated a bit by having Rick marry Jesse Quick, which was a good pairing and makes both of them a little more fun. Still, I really loved the android Hourman. :(

- Giving Wildcat a long-lost kid--absolutely never a good idea to begin with--and then playing up his self-ascribed inability to be a father, despite the fact that he's been a surrogate father to Black Canary for almost her whole life. Simone devoted an entire bloody arc in Birds of Prey to that relationship, for Christ's sake.

- Having Kingdom Come crap bleed over into the mainstream DC universe more and more.

- Killing off the Question and then cramming Rene Montoya into that role. It's not a good fit, period.

- Making the JLA boring as all hell.

- Getting rid of Ray Palmer and replacing him with an Asian copy of himself. This may be nullified by the upcoming Search for Ray Palmer, which looks to be pretty awesome.

- Making Connor Hawke the pacifist monk a murderer.

- Allowing Adam Beechen to write anything.

I'm sure I have more problems with DC's current comics, but this is all I can remember at the moment and I've already spent half an hour at work coming up with this much.

No he didn't. He's one of the stars of Countdown.

I was going to start listing things but I'd probably just start repeating what Corp said.

The Captain Atom thing is specifically a big annoyance to me.

I'd like to add Brave New World.

Whatever the hell has happened to Captain Marvel and Shazam. Is just terrible. As is what they have done and subsequently ignored with Martian Manhunter. Asian Ray Palmer and weird crap OMAC story.

The saving grace was Uncle Sam with DC actually favouring a 90's character in the Ray.

Oh man, I can't believe I forgot the ******ification of the Martian Manhunter. :o

Oh yeah, add "Red Arrow" to my list. Arsenal was a fine name and Roy's never wanted to follow Ollie's footsteps too closely. Way to be obnoxious, Meltzer.

You're even pissed off at Mark Waid? :( Johns, I can see, he sucks. Morrison, I can see, he's crazy. Meltzer, I can see, he's boring as ****. But Waid?

I love Waid's runs on most of the comics he's written, but the man is a self-professed Silver Age lover. He'd prefer to see Clark and Lois split up, for Christ's sake. He wanted to use Hal in Kingdom Come just like Ross. He's writing Brave and the Bold with a plethora of Silver Age characters. I'm sure if he hadn't created his own Legion, he'd be lined up right behind Meltzer and Johns to bring the Silver Age Legion back, too.

Meh, i'm pretty content.

I'm gonna order 25 and give them out to random strangers on the street.

Remember to keep at least 7 for yourself--one for each day of the week. This is now your official uniform.

Except he has. Except he really has done anything in DC's main continuity except write damn good stories. Who cares if he uses Silver Age characters as long as he writes them well.

Okay, but I want them in different colors. Black for Monday, Blue for Tuesday, Red for Wednesday, Yellow for Thursday, Green for Friday, Orange for Saturday, and Brown for Sunday.

Or not, I don't really care either way.

Jeebus, that's a tall order. Give me like 20 minutes.

I don't care if he uses Silver Age characters. I care if he starts retconning the Silver Age status quo back into existence the way Johns, Meltzer, and Morrison have been doing, hence my original comment.

But has he done that? He certainly hasn't done it anywhere near to the extent of everyone else on your list.
