Been meaning to put this one together for some time now, so here goes...
Spoiler Alert: Some movies aren't good. It happens, but I feel like it has to be a very rare thing for a movie to be a complete ****show from every department involved, top to bottom. Someone has to be pulling their weight. Whether it happens to be a performance or the score or production design or the costume work, etc.
So what was that for you? What movie didn't work for you overall, but had an element that still got you to sit up straight and take notice?
I only have one rule, and that's: No "Assassin's Creed sucked, but I always like Fassbender" or "I hated Baywatch, but Alexandra Daddario is hnnnngh" (you know who you are). If it's about a performance, make it specific to the film.
I'll start: Schumacher's Gotham City in Forever and B&R. Truthfully, it was as over the top as everything else in his Batman movies, but I dig it nevertheless. It had character.
