Yes, moral standards have changed, technology has changed, but I feel they fill the same niche.

I like the Jesus stuff, but we don't have to be beat over the head with it like in Returns. I mean he is like a god on earth and is a physical savior and inspires us to be better versions of ourselves so everyone can take what they want from that.

I remember one critic said about Returns, "with a crucifiction and resurrection, this movie could have easily been called 'Passion of the Clark.'

We don't need all the Jesus stuff but I do want people in the film to be changed when in his presence of Superman or get inspired to do good and be a better person when you see him do good things. But I don't need another Passion play with Superman.

I just hope they remember this is a movie about a fictional Superhero, it should be fun and interesting at the same time. Also the scifi nature shouldn't be overlooked. Don't make the film or the character into something he's not. Just get the tone right, give us some great on screen characters, awesome action sequences with great effects, and an inspirational hero.

I agree. The Sci-fi aspect should be played up big time, and I believe it will be since Brainiac has already pretty much been announced as the villain.
I can see why Nolan chose doing Batman realistic. The dude has no superpowers, and the way he can do the things he does without getting killed needed explained.
With Superman, trying to ground all his powers in realism would get really old really fast. I dont need to know the how with Superman, just that he can.
Superman is sci-fi and fantasy rolled into one. Give us a film centered around that.

totally agree we need to have a happy/bright tone with some dark traits but also be fun and include the scifi fantasy stuff. I would be happy of getting a mixture of ironman/spider-man tone-look for superman.

I would love to see a shot/scene where Supes and the villain are standing and staring each other down on the streets of Metropolis.
The fight has been going on for a few minutes now.

Both take off at full speed and swing at each other at the same time ( in slo mo) and their fists hit in mid air, creating a shockwave that shatters every single window in buildings for hundreds of feet around. Parked cars even buck from the shockwave and fire hydrants burst.
And just like in the animated series, they both slide back from the impact, digging out the pavement as they go..

It's a good idea, but, as described, it sounds too much like parts of the Super-Smith vs. Neo fight at the end of "Matrix Revolutions." That was an awesome fight, I think, but I wouldn't want a fight between Superman and whatever villain to be thought of as "been there, done that." As long as they can make it stand on its own... I'm there.

So much has already been done in past films that it will be difficult to see something and it not have that ''been there done that feel.''
They just need to make sure that its way better than what came before it.

Things I'd like too see

* Superman actually throwing a punch, along with an epic battle on the scale of Superman 2 if not bigger
* If Lex is one of the villans , I'd want his plan to be something other than real estate and land

* A villan that is a true threat to Superman such as Brainac, Parasite, Metallo, Mongul etc,
