this is definitly not an end to a trilogy

The big problem of the x-men franchise is Fox, and only Fox.

The idea of make Wolverine the star of the films is the first big mistake they has made and will do again. And then their money and problems of budget.

No an epic treatment of Phoenix, I mean, not so epic, in big scale...
No a good Storm flying sequence... and Jean too
etc, etc...

Yes, I did say it. It's the truth though. He's insulted me and my dislike for the film a number of times and I never said anything.

It's not my fault he gave Fox 7 times the money they deserve now, is it? :yay: :oldrazz: :cwink: :ninja: I don't care if he likes the film. I'm glad he found some enjoyment out of it than others.

Well much as you hate this trivial little fact more people like X3 than SR simple BO numbers tell the tale unless you are trying to say everyone who saw it disliked which is just not the case just like everyone who SR doesn't just love it.

Singer had more control than Ratner did with the first two films. When it became apparent his project was being hijacked by FOX, that was one of the reasons why he left. Up until Singer left, FOX did not give any firm committment to the project. The day after Singer left, FOX announced production of X3. And the managers working with Penn and Kinberg wrote the script themselves, according to strict parameters and guidelines dictated by corporate suits.

Good points the only one I would add is WB did offer him a ton more cash to do SR as well and FOX was not going to match it either so that and his loose of creative control caused a bad split where they didn't even let Singer back on the lot to get his stuff till months later.
Had FOX paid him what WB or more did and he had decided to stayed though he would have pretty much had to do what they wanted though just like Ratner did.

Singer was also a huge Superman fan...more so than the X-Men.

I don't think it was $$$ that singer left the franchise...he was braggin about the X3 and X4 shooting back to back etc...its seems Fox didn't want the idea he proposed and stalled him long enough,to persuade him to change his mind about it..but singer didn't want to change it.....but SR/WB came up as an offer...and he took it cause he wanted something to do really bad.....SR was the answer...

Since it's been quoted and I can see it;

LastSunrise... tell me where once, anywhere, I have EVER insulted you for disliking X-Men: The Last Stand

Please

I really want to know where this absurd accusation is coming from.

I'm getting really sick and tired of your insults and accusations towards myself and everyone else who liked the movie. SO WHAT THAT I SAW IT 7 TIMES?! I ENJOYED THE GOD DAMNED FILM!

Just how you say I need to accept that people DON'T like it, you need to accept that some people do.

Just because I like it doesn't mean it satisfies everyone, you're right. But just because you DIDN'T like it doesn't mean everyone was pissed off about it.

Now tell me where I ever attacked your dislike of the movie, and not your insulting of my, danoyse, and others.

STOP IT NOW! I am sick and tired of your hypocricy, talking about how mad you are about me insulting your opinions (when I did no such thing), yet turning around and insulting me for my opinion, the same thing you're against me for.

Stop it. I'm tired of your act, and if you continue it, I WILL report you to a mod. This has gone on long enough!

wait didn't ratner say they totally changed the last scene or scene 3 or whatever where in the original script they had take place in Washington DC and not Alcatraz???

so its not just Fox its also Ratners dumba**

Well that too. So you're given a chance to do a movie about a character you really love, in a much more supportive and nurturing environment, and for alot more money. Even considering him being a fan of the X-Men, that's an offer that doesn't take much brain power to consider. Would he have wanted to do X-Men? Of course. But FOX just did not make it possible. Considering the terms FOX was dictating Singer would have to be a masochist to keep putting up with them instead of going over to welcoming hands that WB offered him instead.

I would have left too! I love Spider-Man and I would drop anything to direct that movie...plus all the extra money...I am out.

I don't think a final battle at Washington would have been better. The Alcatraz scene was origninally act 1 and the White House was act 3. For that he is an idiot. Alcatraz in act 1 would have been amazing!

So the breakout scene is reduced from an all-out prison raid into hijacking a semi truck.

Yeah, he is an idiot.

Well im happy with the way Jean was handeled in the trilogy but without her x men would suck so i dont want an x4 without jean!

And why are you getting so defensive hmm? If there wasn't SOME truth to what I said you wouldn't get upset.

And you're talking about reporting me to a mod? Please. This isn't grade school or a child care center. I have done nothing to even offend you. You take everything so seriously and get upset when people don't agree with you. Go ahead and report me to a mod for speaking the truth. I simply will not lose sleep over it Nell.

The fact that I bring up you saw it 7 times is proof that you shouldn't be making fun of anyone who dislikes this film. You say Ntcrawler and myself take the film and our hate too seriously, yet you watched it 7 times and gave Fox seven times the money. So who is taking what too seriously? Last time I checked I didn't spend my money 7 times on a movie that I didn't like, so truthfully, you really can't look down on us or make fun of us in any way shape or form my friend.

I know a lot of people who love X3. My girlfriend, her friends, some of my friends, my teachers, and a lot of my co-workers LOVED X3. Know what the difference is? They don't try to insult my intelligence or anyone elses intelligence if a certain person disliked the film itself.

Actually you attacked me and my dislike for a film saying, "IT'S YOUR OWN DAMN FAULT FOR TAKING IT TOO SERIOUSLY", and "YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A WHINEY FANBOY!"

Danoyse and X-Maniac have also attacked many others who didn't like the film and felt it overexposed Wolverine.

I have a Rated R mentality. I speak my mind, I speak the truth, and if people don't like it then it's too bad. I don't like the film, accept it and move on.

You like the film? Great. I'm glad you found a sense of enjoyment out of it more than I did.

See people? This is exactly why no one takes Nell seriously anymore.

And apparently you didn't take my warnings seriously either. Didn't I specifically tell you guys to leave eachother alone just earlier this week? So why am I reading more baiting coming from your direction?

Tell you what: Why don't you take yourself a 10-day vacation from the board. And while you're resting, think of better ways to articulate yourself without insulting the intelligence of others, okay?

X-Maniac, Nell, Danoyse--and anyone else: Continue fueding and you'll be next.

Hey Cal, nice to see you back. Unfortunately under somewhat glim circumstances.

Anyway, I've been meaning to ask you: What did you think of X3? And Superman Returns? :)

I don't think that 2 cliffhangers is a very good ending of a trilogy. So yeah, I would to see an X4.

Wolverine's solo film is going to flop horribly. I don't think anyone other than comic book fanboys will actually see this film.

I'm sure those who have a fetish for Hugh Jackman will see it, but the casual viewer doesn't care about Wolverine as an individual character. For one his story is too dark, too violent, and there's absolutely no way to do it justice.

I can't wait for it to flop so those who supported Fox, Ratner, Kinberg, and Penn can end up with a large amount of egg on their faces. I have a feeling that the majority of those who really LOVE X3 had their way they'd have Ratner direct Return of the King, kill off Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, Gimli, and have Legolas destroy the ring since Orlando Bloom became a popular star during the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Of course if Ratner directed Return of the King it'd be 1hr and 40minutes.

Ugh. :down

I want a total restart. I love the old cast but i would be willing to wait about 10 years for a whole new spin at it.

Coolest thing i ever i had too give a speech in school on any topic and i picked the X-Men and how they parallel our modern day issues. I even showed the clip in X2 where bobby "comes out" to his parents. Yea the speech was awesome :D.

Greetings,

To be truthful, I thought both films were lackluster dissapointments on many levels. Neither really did the source material justice, leaving me with an "elseworld" feeling after both theatrical experiences. However, I did find a few elements of X3 mildly entertaining, while SR utterly bored me to tears (which is interesting because I found both of Singer's X-films thoroughly engaging).

So the only real "battle" won this year between the CBMs was that of the box office--and the victor obviously is X3. But in my opinion, neither film won the "war".

And I think we as fans lost a lot on both fronts. :hyper:

An X-men film should be 2 hours, at least, and have more dialogue scenes, and less and better team action.

yes, it was way too short. i could have sat there for three hours. i was kinda hoping it woul be extra long and then i looking at the running time and almost died. :whatever: and yes since it was a team movie, there should have been more team action. dont get me wrong though, i really enjoyed X3, there are just things i would change. :)

He's steadily becoming a full-time comicbook writer, though. It might be some time until he is freed up to do movies.
