Singer didn't leave in order to screw over the franchise. Singer left because they wouldn't LET him make an X3. He was on the roster but had no project to do because management wouldn't let him do it. It's FOX's fault for building things up to the point that Singer had to leave. The rest is domino's

Singer didn't do anything malicious against this film, and I really hate how every article and review of this movie talks about how he "abandoned" the franchise... he did no such thing.
