Then my save game corrupted, and I couldn't access it.

I, BISON, am the KING of Street Fighter!! Just a few minutes ago the Asian boyfriend who's girlfriend I convinced to become a stripper just kicked my ass in EVERY Street Fighter Alpha game in existence!! Including the Gold version of Alpha 2 and Alpha 3!!

I picked every character I mastered, but it didn't seem to matter. He would toss me all over the arena like a rag doll! I finally resorted to picking myself in every Street Fighter Alpha: Anthology (which just debuted btw) game and he whooped me like nobodiez bizniz, yo!! THIS ISN'T POSSIBLE!! HOW COULD I BE BEATEN!!

What do I have left to live for now? There's no reason to live.....no reason to live....no...reason...to live.

That's the point: you realize it's a game, then you realize that this game has wasted weeks, months of your life.

How can it be a waste. It is not like you were doing anything else at that time. Playing a game for hours on end is far more preferrable to sitting in the dark saying "I'm bored" over and over.
