I don't have a problem with Jindar Mahal as #1 Contender. It falls in line with Smackdown's theme of "opportunity". They have quite a road in front of them to make him look like a legit contender over the next few weeks.

Seriously...Charlotte beats the Smackdown women's champion CLEAN in first full week on the show?!! The nepotism is ridiculous at this point.

No one's saying Jinder should win the title, but it gives him an opportunity to make some kind of mark.

Yup, I'd rather see mid card guys get title shots occasionally than keep seeing the same main eventers having the same matches for 3 or 4 months straight.

Also it allows for #1 contenders matches to actually be exciting. Too often those matches are predictable because it's usually one guy who's clearly getting a push and a bunch of dudes that will never be main eventers.

I don't know how often the WWE does drug testing, but if he was juicing, he would have already been caught.

We'll see how this goes, as it'll be refreshing to not see the same damn people in the main event scene on Smackdown.

It also avoids the mess caused by having only the top guys wrestle each other, where there's no way to protect the people you want to protect. Styles has a fair share of losses on Smackdown, but it's allowed other people to maintain a high profile as well.

It's noticeable that of the backstage bullying JBL seems to take issue with young guys that would be termed good looking by many, sounds like some sort of insecurity, but one of the vets should have nipped that in the bud long ago, someone like Taker, but the biggest problem seems to be that Vince encourages him because despite being 75 he's still a frat boy mentally.

Seriously. It's just insane to me that a guy can be Mojo and Gronk's child play thing one week and then the #1 contender for the WWE title on the next show against a bored and boring champ. Heck the US Title match should be the main event of Backlash.

The U.S. title match is the main event of Backlash. It's AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens and the WWE title match is Randy Orton vs Jinder Mahal. Until they prove otherwise this WWE title match is just going to be just another match on the show, that might go on last. It's really up to Jinder to have the month of career and make this match feel like it's going to be something. Maybe he can light a fire under Randy.

Totally agree. Jinder needs to be on fire this month with everything (in ring, promos, etc). Plus, creative needs actually do something to make people not only believe he has a legit shot at beating Randy, but make people care.

I think the reaction he received after winning and his promo were good starts, but they need to up the ante considerably from this point on.

For starters, the Bollywood Boyz- change that name please- I'm personally offended- need to be like his own J&J Security.

The problem is he can't go all out on Randy till that Bray thing subsides so Smack Down's creative have work on their hands.
