This May Be Your Show, But This Is MY Wrestling Thread! - Part 242

Braun losing that match was stupidly pointless. If you're going to have him destroy Kalisto anyway, then just let him win the match. There's no reason not to.

As I said, Raw got the writer who conceived the Ziggler-Crews-Kalisto feud as a package deal with Kalisto in the "Superstar Shakeup".

what a **** go home show for payback
not sure how they expect people to flock to the network to watch it (even for free trial month) based on how they hyped it up
That's what happens when your show's main champion is a part timer, two of your main event feuds feature guys that are on another show, and your "Main" guy is off TV completely.

Having Bayley try to verbally go toe-to-toe with Bliss was tough to watch.

They might as well put the belt on Banks if they are going to have her run to Bayley's defense in every feud.

I agree on both

Roderick Strong is now a father, with his fiancée MMA Fighter Marina Shafir giving birth to a baby boy named Troy.

Now why can't a certain Smackdown GM give his child a normal name?

Bayley looked visibly uncomfortable to me during that segment so it was hard to watch. No matter how good Bliss is I don't see how anyone could have enjoyed that skewering. Rollins did something similar to Balor.

Every man and woman for themselves it seems regardless of the love ins you might see on Instagram and the like.

Funnily enough given how they seem to be friends in real life I would have loved to see AJ Lee in Bayley's place in that segment. She would have given Bliss a run for her money through expression and presence alone.

Bayley was too big at NXT to be a brought up as an underdog as you can't have someone presented as important and at the same time be the underdog. Bayley always had to be a big thing from the start.

And it's weird because they DID make her seem like a big deal early on. When she showed up at Battleground, and then debuted on Raw, the commentators played it up like a big deal that she was there (as did Mick Foley). And they repeatedly referenced her being a "former NXT Women's Champion." And it was pretty clear by the pops that she got that a lot of the audience knew who she was.

But then they just dropped that after a while and went back to trying to rehash her underdog story from NXT (lazy/uncreative writing there), and then managed to screw that up as well.

Also they seem to want to pick and choose what they acknowledge from NXT. They reference her title run, and her dynamic with Sasha. But then they ignore that she made it to the top of the division. She beat Charlotte, she beat Sasha, she beat Nia, etc. And when she lost, it was to Asuka, who NO ONE has been able to beat one on one in over a year and a half now. But all of that is brushed aside on Raw to try and do the "underdog story" yet again.

The "you've never kissed a boy" line was astonishingly stupid. Like whoever came up with that needs to never write again. WWE, your audience isn't that dumb.

Also Bayley's fiancée had an amusing response to that on his Twitter page.

Bayley's a great performer, but her character & gimmick bore me to tears. She literally is the female John Cena but turned to 11. Maybe if they put more of an edge to her or let her fight her own battles instead of being saved by Sasha all the time there would be some improvement, but right now, her feud with Charlotte was awful and this one with Bliss hasn't started well either.

I like WWE superstars with some level of intensity. I loved during the attitude era where when a wrestler lost their title or a big PPV match, they would come out pissed off looking for revenge (Austin, Rock & Triple H were notorious for this). Now, someone loses a match and it's like "eh, whatever". Rollins has a bit of it. Sasha does as well. Owens is right now the king of it. Everyone once they just don't allow them to look like they care. Ambrose should live and breath that mindset, but they seem to enjoy making him "*****ey, dirty frat guy".

Instant match of the year contender right there

I think the writers find themselves in between a rock and a hard place. What you suggest was kinda tried in the case of American Alpha who were brought in and treated as big deals straight up... it's kinda resulted in them seeming like 'happy to be here' kinda guys as they skipped over all the struggle they went through to reach that point in NXT and I find the main roster versions too bland, something I didn't feel when they were at Full Sail.

No doubt they've bungled Bayley's storyline so far- you're completely right in saying that. But I'm not sure making her a big deal all the way through would have solved the problem.

Also, I bet the WWE has no clue what the House of Horrors is going to be like until the Pre-show.

Very unlikely. He's almost definitely going to WWE in one form or another.

So it will probably be his final match in ROH. Oh that's right, he has a PWG show named after him on May 19th.

So what's going on with Matt Sydal? He has a match against Marty Scrull (who I hope is competing in New Japan by the end of the year) for the TV Title at War of the Worlds yet:

He returned to Impact at the latest set of tapings last weekend.

Sydal
isn't signed to either promotion yet, sort of like Cody Rhodes. They'll probably let him sit on the fence for a little while before one promotion or the other signs him to an exclusive deal. Cody to ROH exclusive is pretty much a done deal at this point.

did i miss something ? why is the house of horrors match no longer being advertised as a title match

Probably because A) Wyatt is winning or B) They don't want it to be obvious that Orton is winning.

Nakamura's intro just gave me a Pokemon seizure.

The Wrestling Thread's Name Is Actually Michael.

How Did Sammi Zayne get his leg up that high?
