This is the one new Guardian? Well I'm dissapointed, I don't know if I've even heard of her.

She's about as famous as the rest of the Guardians were, perhaps even more so because she was in a lot of stuff before the Guardians of the Galaxy relaunch.

I am slightly disappointed because I'd like more than one (I'm still hoping Moondragon appears), but I'm certainly not going to complain about her addition.

Mantis is not some C-team GOTG member, she is one of the 2-3 main GOTG members that have not been on screen yet.

She's the only confirmed new member, I'd bet we see another guardian show up. Still a lot of unknowns about this movie.

Someone named Manhunter (from Martian Manhunter i presume) with a Batman avatar is disappointed because he hasn't heard a c-tier Guardian. I'm shocked...

What colour skin is Mantis going to have in this? She can't be green, because she'll be too similar to Gamora. But if she's blue, she'll look like Yondu. I want her to have her normal olive skin, but she can have the antennae sticking out of her head. Not all aliens have to look completely alien. Presumably the Nova corp aren't humans either since Gunn said Starlord is the only human, but they still look human.

Not sure where this comes from. She was a part of the lineup by Abnett and Lanning when they worked on the book which heavily inspired the first movie. That was basically the run of the book that ultimately informed the movie.

Gunn already said he's not a fan of Nova, so it wasn't going to be him.

I actually don't reckon they will! I reckon they'll reason that she looks too similar to gamora and they'll loose the face brand value of her. I reckon they'll keep the insect thingies on her head and that's it.

Then again maybe she'll turn green when she's angry or stressed like someone else

While I'm OK with her being green, I'm also OK with her being closer to her original appearance (which will also help Gamora stand out more).

I definitely prefer this look, but that pic is really low resolution.

Yeah. We already saw aliens with human skin tones in the first movie so Mantis looking like that isn't too much of a stretch.

I don't think they'll go yellow with her, because that could be reinforcing the Asian racial stereotype to an extreme with the yellow skin.

I'm sure some people will disagree but, imho, if they really want to differentiate her from Gamora they should emphasize her insect features more.
I mean, since she's not even gonna be from Earth anymore, they might as well go all out and use a little bit of creativity.

Which I perfectly realize would make her a lot less sexier than she was in Da Comics (hence the "people will disagree part" ) but eh, who cares, I think it'd be cool.

But seriously. XD I doubt Bug is ever going to appear in a movie in anything more than a small role, they might as well make her the official alien/insect member of the team.
Her name has to come from somewhere, right? Those ridiculous antennas just won't cut it anymore.
