Thor Animated Movie?

It's not great, but I've given up on any of Marvel's animated movies actually looking good. All of them have looked pretty cheap.

Next... skip and on to Cap. Disney ought to help with Marvel animation fast.

yea i agree the more recent marvel DTV hasnt been as good as the DC DTV of late. Though hopefully with marvel with disney now maybe we can get some better DTV stuff in the coming yrs. As for the thor clip i didnt get to see its gone from that link. is it posted anywhere else i would like to check it out.

But I thought Grey DeLisle did a good job voicing Sif in Hulk Vs. Please don't hit me.

The female voices don't sound as bad to me, for some reason. They all have that awful not-quite-British-but-overly-prim-and-proper accent going on, which I absolutely hate, but it doesn't mar the women's voices quite as badly as the men's to me.

I think they go for British accents (despite the characters being Norse) because they figure British accents sound archaic but not so thick that an American ear wouldn't be able to digest it. Charlton Heston mentioned this in his autobiography "In The Arena" from the various epic films he worked on.

I read that the next one will be Planet Hulk (produced by Marvel and Lionsgate). IGN was Invited last week to a pre-screening of the film. I think it will be on DVD February 2nd.

I'll probably rent it at some point. "Planet Hulk" was a really, really good story in the comics, so it'd probably be pretty hard even for Kyle and Yost to screw it up. Then again, the complaint "it wasn't as good as the book" is pretty widespread for a reason...

I'l buy this (so they make more thor dtv's) but if they were going to adapt a thor story from the comics it really should have been thor goes the hel from the simonson run.

1st act - exposition of hela taking human souls, thor gathers his army

2nd act - thor storms hel

3rd act - final battle

to me that sounds a hell (no pun intended) of a lot better than 'thor 90210'

The story of the upcoming animated DTV movie is taken from Thor: Son of Asgard, a series from the early '00s that told some stories from Thor's youth--specifically, how he finally earned Mjolnir, which was promised to him but which he wasn't quite worthy of at the start of the series. That's why he's a kid.

The comic series was actually quite good. However, given that the team who's working on the DTV movie is the same team who basically pissed all over Thor and Asgard in Hulk vs., I expect the movie to suck.

Well how should we feel? It's just one of many examples that the people handling these features do not understand Thor at all.

I agree with Spider-Neil, taking a story from Thor's adult years & adapting it for a solo feature would be preferable, but maybe they're thinking a story about teen/tween Thor might succeed where 'Next Avengers' failed. But as Corp pointed out, this team pretty much pissed all over Thor & Asgard in Hulk Vs. - just as they pissed on Thor in Next Avengers - so I'm keeping my expectations low.
