Thor Animated Movie?

well the plan originally was for it to come out this yr right. but it got moved when thor was moved?

Its funny how some Thor fans are still mad at marvel animation for making Thor a punching bag in Hulk vs.You guys are lucky Hulk is not in this movie
Well, I don't think about it every day or anything, but Thor was misrepresented in that movie. The movie'll never change, so why would my feelings on it?

well Thor fans should be very pleased with his outing in Planet Hulk. he was shown to be far more powerful than the Hulk, considering Beta Ray Bill was owning hulk later on

See, Thor was more powerful in Planet hulk are the fans happy now?

i really dont care for young thor, with a sword. i want to see the badass thor with mjolnir. also some of the bigger story arcs might not be able to be made since alot of the characters are owned by different studios now. anything with the x-men,spider-man,ff,silver surfer are tied up with other studios. so no AOA, Onslaught, Annihilation, Galactus, Kree skrull war etc.

I'd rather see an animated adaptation of Thor: Ages of Thunder, but I guess the sight of Thor being that much of a bad ass is simply too much for the likes of Craig Kyle, Chris Yost & Josh Fine to process. For one thing, it would make the already absurdly stupid fight scenes in "Hulk Vs. Thor" look even more ridiculous.

its a little annoying you get

planet hulk - animated movie
doctor strange - animated movie
iron man - animated movie

but when thor is given an animated movie, it is him as a child. sigh.
at least the thor animated series is thor as an adult.

They should cancel it. Its a f'n disaster. It looks stupid with that Japanese anime nonsense. It should have been the current Thor with the same animation they used for the Ultimates. Common Sense Marvel!

yea from what i heard of the guys in charge at marvel animation, they probably should leave and have more quality guys in charge. Just think if we had someone of a bruce timm running marvel animation.

I don't have a problem with the concept. It's based on Thor: Son of Asgard, which was a fantastic comic series. I'm just not excited for the movie because I'm 100% certain the people involved will f*** it up, based on their previous work.

Why, preytell, are we lucky that Hulk isnt in this movie? Was Hulk in the comic on which this is based?

Ummm, that would be a 'no', wouldnt it?

And to add to some comments made on here already, stylistically, I'm still finding these Marvel animated movies wanting a great deal. Corp is right - they do look cheap.

I compare them to, say, DC's 'Crisis on Two Earth's' and the gulf in class is immense.

DC's cartoons and animated movies definitely have much better animation. I wish Marvel would switch their animation house to someone who can do movement a bit more fluidly and dramatically.

We can dream, eh?

EDIT: Just thought, as much as Disney have said that they wont interfere with any Marvel animation's already in the works, there's no reason why they wont take the animation arm unter their considerably more experienced wing at some point in the future.

even though thor got handed his arse 'hulk vs' is better than the majority of DC DTV

crisis on two earths > hulk vs
new frontier > hulk vs
gothem knights < hulk vs
wonder woman = hulk vs
GL first flight < hulk vs
world's finest pulic enemies < hulk vs
superman doomsday < hulk vs

It's not the animation house that's the problem. If I can recall back when Hulk Vs came out the animation was made by MadHouse. Which is a great animation company. The problem is Marvels budget for the line. They don't put up enough money to have fluid animation, also, another problem is the character designs don't work well with their budget. Thats one reason DC does it better. Not just because they have better budgets, but Timm uses better designs that will lower costs, and help animators make a better product.

That's debatable. Personally, I thought Hulk vs. was a steaming pile of s*** on every level, not just because Thor got his ass kicked. Then again, DC's DTV animated movies haven't been too great lately anyway. New Frontier and Wonder Woman are pretty much the only ones I've enjoyed in the post-JLU era.

well with disney in charge of money maybe more could be pumped into marvel animation. or even get some disney artists on board for animation work who knows.

Yeah I've been thinking about that myself WH.
I'm wondering if some of the animation departments will be merged.

i wouldnt see why it wont happen down the road, to consolidate and all that. Plus haing folks from disney animation who been doing animation work for decades would be a big plus for marvel to have and all that.

As long as they don't insist on having the Disney "Look" to the Marvel films I'd be fine with it.

Personally, thought Public Enemies, Crisis on Two Earths and First Flight were excellent.

If they got a live action fight in GL even half as good as the end fight in First Flight, I'll be a happy guy.

oh yea marvel should be able to have its own look, so you have the difference from the standard disney stuff like what ever, and marvel stuff.

hulk vs and planet hulk are moving in the right direction qulaity wise (bought the planet hulk book purely because of the DTV) and DC animated movies are seriously overrated, I thought public enemies, and gothem nights was absolute rubbish, first flight, new frontier and doomsday 'okay', wonder women and crisis were excellent though.

marvel should look to making the iconic stories into DTV movies (like planet hulk)

nothing can stop the juggernaught - spider-man
kraven's last hunt - spider-man
demon in a bottle - iron man
guardian devil - daredevil
trail of galactus - fantastic four
the death of jean gray - x-men

fantastic stories, there is no need to create new lame ones *cough* next avengers *cough*
