I know almost nothing about marvels Thor, except he talks in a weird font, he has a helmet and a hammer, and he's big.

But this trailer made me kind of excited for this movie. Looks great.

Thank you, smart person.

Pirates Opens I think 2 weeks after THor mayber 3

Cars 2 opens one week after Green Lantern in June...not May.

THors big comp. is Preist in the week right after....so I expect 2 weeks at number 1 for Thor.

I think that the tone of TFA:CA is what will really hurt it unfortunately.

That it's so serious that you can barely enjoy the movie because there isn't enough fun.

What are you basing that on?

I can't say I've seen anything from the Cap that suggests it is taking itself too seriously and won't have enough fun. If anything it seems to be invoking elements of 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' and 'the Rocketeer' for its tone (very fun films, both of which Cap director Joe Johnson worked on), but until I see more I can't say that is definitely the case. We have not even seen any footage at all from Cap yet.

When something comes along that supports thinking it's too serious then fair enough, but until then that does seem to be jumping the gun.

I don't know how expensive it would have been with regards to filming but it would have been nice if the director took several takes of each scene, one with thor's helmet on and one with the helmet off to see which is most visually appealing.

I love the fact that Chris Hemsworth's acting skills were challenged based on a short teaser trailer. Face it, you're going to hate this movie. So why bother with it?

Unless it's digital, VERY expensive. What's with the helmet love? I like it too, but I couldn't care too much for it personally. To each his own, I guess.

Awesome summary of Thor. Great post!

I still don't see what was bad about Hemsworth in the trailer. He has like 2 lines, one where he's supposed to be super-angry and one where he's supposed to be despondent and a bit disgusted. I got those feelings pretty loud and clear from him in both.

Great teaser, I wasn't expecting to see anything different from what we saw of the comic con footage but I was pleasantly surprised. In fact this teaser made me a little more excited.

I agree its far too early to judge any of the actors abilities from the trailer alone, often trailers don't convey the actual tone of the scene.

Tell that to the Green Lantern boards.

This film looks fantastic. I think this was a great teaser (better than GL's easily). I also don't see what is bad about Hemms in the trailer. I thought he sounded fine for the 3 lines he has.

Really. I've seen a few "his acting is stiff" comments based on this trailer and I don't see that at all.

I think as the release dates go so far, Thor is the only one with a shot at being #1 two weekends in a row. GL has Super 8 in front of it and Cars 2 right behind it and Cap has HP7P2 & C&A doing the same thing for it so neither of them as they are scheduled has much chance at staying #1 in their second weekend. Cap would be wise IMO to move back 3 weeks to Aug. 12th then it could have a shot at ruling the whole month(I mean if it's good enough, it could be #1 three weeks in a row at that point). And frankly, I'm sick of all the good stuff getting crammed into the early summer months and leaving the dregs for later summer, aren't you?

Geez, it took me a second to figure out you meant Harry Potter. That gobbledygook looks like the model number of an office printer or something.

I agree, I didn't see anything that would give me concern. Everything was fine, especially considering this was a two minute trailer.

The teaser is very good, but, imo, there is many things wrong it´s not even funny.

First of all...

Hogun the Grim looks painfully awful.
You can talk about where is his Mongol helmet, but more important and more iconic, where is his moustache.
And, what kind of a mace is that?
It looks like one of the Ice Giant´s balls on a stick

Second, the story looks...meh
Why does Thor have an australian accent when he arrives to earth?
His first line "This is Earth, isn´t it?" is a nice to take away the drama in a quick motion, just like ripping off a bandage.
Don´t this guys know how to write a script anymore?

And where is Donald Blake?
I know that they already said there will a mention to him, but, how are they going to do it without looking fairly stupid?
I´m sure i know, Thor will be called Donald Blake while on earth

All in all, from what i see in the teaser it didn´t changed my mind, it might be a great movie but it misses the chance to be something powerful

Yeah, Corp. I think from now on I'm just gonna call it what it is, Harry Potter #8.

Not ALL maces had things like Spikes IH. Some were literally a step up from a plain club.

But yeah I wish they at least gave Hogun a mustache

Yeah, if only Asano had grown a mustache we could have had a classic on our hands.

Wow, I don't know that I would get all worked up over a mustache and mace.

I will admit ... I did chuckle at the frost giant ball on a stick line.

Agreed. I feel like boycotting this movie just because of this. Maybe they can give him a CGI moustache. :oldrazz:

heh you should have been around when Fantastic Four was still being made.
The original Thing didn't have the huge Brow he has today in the comics, and even after being shown what Ben Grimm looked like in FF #1, the NEWER fans were still more upset than anyone is in here over any of the minor changes.

Little did they know that the Thing's brow ridge would be the very least of that film's problems...
