I know this probably won't happen, and with Nolan's arrival it'd be stupid. But what if Tim Burton came back with new actors (and a white Robin)... and no Two-Face... and made the 3rd Batman film he planned before Schumacher took over?
Have it based on the events after Batman Returns and even have Danny Elfman come back with the famous score? Try to reboot that series to then do a 4, 5 and 6... or at least finish the trilogy and just make a 3 and then let Nolan continue with his seperate series...
It would be nice for some continuity. Officially separate Schumacher's films from Burton's...
On a side note... I bet you some main-stream, ignorant people out there are thinking, for some reason, that out of all the Batman films that they're ALL part of the same series and the timeline is something like this...
Batman Begins
Batman (1989)
Batman Returns
Batman Forever
The Dark Knight
Batman & Robin
And some nerd (who doesn't know too much about the comics or films) has put together a big timeline like this:
Bruce Wayne has become Batman and must fight Ra's Al Ghul (Liam Neeson) and Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy) and because of escalation must then fight Joker (Jack Nicholson) and once that's over he must deal with Penguin (Danny DeVito) and Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer). Then he is faced with Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones) and Riddler (Jim Carry) with the help of Robin (whatever his name is
) and then faces a recurring problem when Joker (Heath Ledger) is discovered to be alive and still at large (and this time worst than ever!) as well as Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy) who has rose in the ranks again... and Robin has gone on vacation and cannot help! After this problem is over he then goes on to fight (with Robin) Freeze (Arnold Swartzenegger), Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman) and Bane ( ? )...
I can just about bet you there's some poor soul who's done that...
anyway... I think sometime in the future after Nolan's third Batman film, Burton should possibly come back and finish what was started with a 3rd Burton Batman film... then continue Nolan's films (and make it known that they ARE seperate "universes".
just a thought... I know it won't happen... just something to keep this nerd thinking...
