Has it occurred to anyone that Tim may have just wanted to say something without really giving anything away and just threw that in without any deep motivation? Perhaps it is something that they're currently concentrating on and he just mentioned it in passing. I'm sure he's facing decisions/frustrations aplenty in many areas.

There seems to be a total embargo on Doom.

Mmmm ... possibly. Still, the whole production has been a tad, shall we say ... insular? And I have to agree about Doom and Julian. Very odd indeed. Are they running scared or have they something wonderful up their sleeves? Any thoughts?

I'm talking about the voice. It would be too familiar and since I've seen Hellboy more times than I can remember, it would be irritating to me. Besides, Tim suggested less known actors and DHP is anything but unknown.

DHP should not do the voice. If Doug doesn't get it I'd love Peter Sarsgaard or hell even Malkovich.

Guys listen carefully, sometimes its not hard to figure out what is going on and Helmistress take a breath and think about what you said ealier that Doug was told by Tim that his voice was good, we know that Story has been legit on just about everything he has said. He does not bs.

I think the suits don't want Doug's voice. I know the fans on the hype really like Jones and I would say let him have his time in the spotlight.

Halle berry gave us a heads up to the fact that we the fans do have some influence so if you want to really tell fox what you want here is their email where you can write them and just indicate your support for Doug.

Nah. No hissy fits or suchlike, but I sure do wish sometimes that I drank alcohol ... sigh. Poor me. But nevertheless, I have decided to be boyant, cheerful and optimistic, and if pushed, I may even demand a Group Hug. That should be enough to worry you guys for now.

This is a much bigger issue than it should be. When I saw the trailer the last thing I cared about was his voice.

I mean, it *is* a thing but I see no reason why everyone should be running about trying to get the Surfer's voice recast when YOU HAVEN'T EVEN HEARD THE VOICE YET!

David Hyde Pierce? Please... I love the guy but the Surfer he ain't. Not for me, anyway. Too familiar.

At least give the guy who did all the work a CHANCE before you ****-can him. Sheesh.*

However well-intentioned it may or may not have been, it is still unprofessional - but then I'm not looking at it from a fan's perspective, so sorry iffen I seem a bit snitty. I'm just tired of having my ass chewed by Studio Suits, and perhaps I'm turning paranoid in my old age.

As for the voice .... meh - I'm happy to wait and see. I've always said that Studios do what they want, and I've always replied when people ask if Doug is doing the voice that it sounds likely, but don't hold your breath - you never know what the studio will decide.

And I appreciate the support Doug has had and is still receiving from fans - he has been astounded by the kindness and good will he has received from everyone, and that makes me a happy ol' Hellmistress. But don't expect me to sit on my hands or zip the lips when there is a storm raging in which Doug is stuck in the middle through no fault - Ioan's fans or Jessie's wouldn't tolerate it either. So forgive me if I get a little defensive - we Scots are a prickly race. But you have to admit I'm polite about it.

Let's see it was too late not to tolerate Jessica having to strip for the first movie....
It was too late for Ioan's fans to raise hell over the fact that they kept changing Reed's lines and it was hard for Ioan to get the accent down so quickly.....

I don't know what we are not supposed to tolerate......

That's right. We haven't heard him do the voice.
And most likely we aren't going to hear that voice before a decision is made.
There's simply no way we can have an informed opinion on this matter.

And I'm sure they're considering his performance before they "can" him.
There's been no indication that they're not "giving him a chance."

Most of us just want the best voice for the Surfer.
And there's no way we can know what that is at this point.
