I seriously thought (hoped) this thread would be about the expression, "to die for". You know, like, "this cake is to die for." Which then lead me to believe cake would be involved. So, naturally, I'm disappointed.

People always say that they'd be willing to die for their wives, husbands, children, parents, siblings, etc. But who exactly would you all be willing to actually die for?

Who the **** would die for their parents??? In all seriousness... unless you were an infant and there were complications during pregnancy. Not that you'd be making that decision... is your mom and dad gonna be like "Oh son/daughter... die for me so that I can live"... what parent is gonna honestly let their kid get away with that?

Sometimes parents don't have the choice. I'm saying in the right that I would die for my mother if we were met by a mugger with a gun and he was going to shoot her, I'd take the bullet for her. I know she wouldn't want me to do it and it'd devastate her, but as a son I love her so much, I'd rather she live in the situation more than I.

I had the same argument in highschool. I said I would die for my parents and the other said that parents had already lived their lives. I said how selfish is that
