Sequels Tobeys big decision

I'd like to see a more mature, grown up, confident Peter Parker. With no quirky, goofy, silly, or child-like antics surrounding him. Perhaps working as Curt Connors' assistant in his third year of college. I actually don't want to see a young Peter Parker, it's too easy to slip into this juvenile syndrome that they have the character under. The character really needs to grow up and be a man, this isn't high school anymore. Oh, and no reboot.

Sounds good, I've always felt he played Peter too much as Clark Kent :-/

Maguire has done a decent enough job as Spidey but to be honest, he could easliy be replaced. There are people out there who would make better Peter Parker/Spidermans for various reasons i.e., having better attributes for the role such as looks, comic-timing etc. Some of 'em have already been mentioned on this thread.

Personally, I've a real feeling that Maguire won't return.

Funnily enough, of all the characters already enstablished in the Spider-man movies, the one role that I really have a hard time imagining another actor playing is JJJ.

J.K.Simmons has been J.Jonah Jameson to a 't'.

I hope to Satan Toby does not come back, he totally sucks.

He's just all wuss/geek with none of the social dynamism of the Peter Parker of the comics.

And as Spidey he is totally flat too, no quips, just lame.

If SM4 is not new cast/crew I won't even go waste money watching it.

Agreed. Toby Maguire was never someone I was excited about for these movies. I don't think Spiderman ever went in the right direction, although I have to admit that I did appreciate the second film a great deal, I hated the first and third installments.

I say reboot. New cast, new crew, new direction for this franchise. Give it the respect it deserves.

and also, I hate the cartoony bright color scheme of these movies. It makes me want to die. Nothing looks real in this ****ing circus they've thrown our way.

I HOPE TO GOD WE GET A RECAST.... new director..... and NEW DIRECTION

I think he'd be better if he joked. Hopefully the writer if Spidey 4 adds that, which is a big part of his personality.

Really the only person I don't want to see return is Dunst. I wouldn't mine if Rami produces, but I don't care if he directs.

Sometimes when people call Maguire a bad actor I wonder if they actually watch anything beyond superhero movies.

When I hear fanboys state that their favorite comic book movie, is the BEST MOVIE that they've ever seen in their life. The answer to that is NO.

No hes not :o

Totally agree. I hate it when people say that kind of stupid stuff. Spider-Man will be around long after Toby is dead. There are plenty of people out there that can do a better job.

Mostly agree. We got a taste of it. "That's a cute outfit. Did your husband give it to you?" Perfect. We just needed ALOT more of it.

I guess I know what kind of fanboys you're talking about...:oldrazz:

I don't mind if Tobey comes back.

But I would also like to see who else can be Spider-Man.

Funny, how things changed. For two years, he was the perfect Peter Parker and Spider-Man, and now, he is not. Spidey 3 didn't sucked becaused Maguire, Dunst, and Grace were crap, it sucked because the studio put their hands on it...

I just see only one mistake Raimi did. He killed the best villain in the first movie. Osborn should have not been killed, disappeared, yes, but not killed. Coming back, in the last movie of the franchise, would have been the best ever...

The character's appeal doesn't ride on Maguire. People will forget this odd lover affair the moment that a good actor plays Peter in a live-action format. Maybe not in the films, but I can guess that it'll at least be better than Maguire. No offense to his fans, but the man's slightly more charismatic than Hayden Christensen.
