“Award worthy film and performances” I think we heard about another Tom Holland Netflix film earlier this year. Ahem.
The Devil All the Time wasn't for everybody and I get that, but I don't think it deserves to be just completely forgotten or swept under the rug as if it was some kind of misfire.
Its not like the movie was Cuties or something, but that's just me I guess. It atleast had two great performances in it from Holland and Pattinson.
I can admit though that as a whole it was a pretty messy, convoluted movie, but damn did I find it engrossing from beginning to end.
Same. In my review I even admitted I had a hard time summing up my final verdict on it.
I thought the whole cast was good, and Tom should have made it obvious he can do more than Spidey-Boy (if people didn't already know that from The Impossible when he was a kid before he was Spider-Man).
The intensity and tension in that confrontation between Holland and Pattinson is off the charts, and really well-acted by both of them. His later showdowns with Clarke/Keough and Sebastian Stan were good too IMO.
I think you should rephrase. There's some troublesome content towards the end of your post.I woudnt give to much weight on twitter reaction since there are a lot fanboys. Looking to letterbox, this movie will be a mixed bag it seems. Even if Holland get praise by everyone, he has no chance to enter the race for best actor this year with peak Hopkins, transformative Oldman, a died popculture icon and two other people of colour. Since Oscars are political so much, this movie will be a huge loss for apple.

Your post indicates they're undeserving. I assume you're talking about Chadwick and Delroy (you didn't even say their names), who both gave powerhouse performances and warrant more than just a dismissive nod for political reasons. There was no offront intended. I just think that we will have so many black actors nominated with the black-lives-matter-movement.

It never was my intention. Lando and Boseman are in my personal Top5 this year too for sure. Though some political reasons come in play with voters and that will push as an extra.
To come back to the topic here, I think a BAFTA nomination is the maximum for Tom Holland.
I do agree that Boseman's death may put him over the top. Thanks for clarifying though. Back on topic. It never was my intention. Lando and Boseman are in my personal Top5 this year too for sure. Though some political reasons come in play with voters and that will push as an extra.
