Watsons not would I call leading material in the slightest. She's cute and seems sweet but honestly, that's all she has going for her. She wouldn't pass for tough even on Seasame Street and I personally can't take her seriously in the slightest when trying to imagine her in the role. No offense to your opinion meant, I'm trying really hard to see it; I just can't.

Emma Watson is cool but Lara Croft she is not.

Well I'm not going to agree or disagree about her as Lara. I'm just going to see where she goes.

But i believe she could carry a movie by herself no problem.

yeah i liked her in potter but i dont think she is this great actress she is passable she is no Jennifer Lawrence,Mia Wasikowska,Saoirse Ronan,Elle Fanning, etc. for example i rank her in emily browning territory

Well she rudely disagrees ;)

I think Emma is too cute and sweet looking for Lara. We need someone that looks a little more hard edge.

Kaya Scodelario has the look that I'm talking about. Honestly, the best fits for Lara are older. Wish the studio wasn't going so young.

After watching the Hunger Games and currently playing the new game, I can easily see Jennifer Lawrence playing Lara. She'd need to have a convincing accent though.

So promising:

Marti Noxon to Write Tomb Raider
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" writer and producer Marti Noxon has signed on to rewrite MGM and GK Films' upcoming Tomb Raider reboots, Variety reports.

The original Tomb Raider game was published in 1996 by the London-based video game company Eidos and went on to become one of the most successful video games of the time. Eidos (including Crystal Dynamics) is now part of an international interactive entertainment group, Square Enix. A pop culture phenomenon, the original Tomb Raider games have sold over 35 million game units worldwide making Lara Croft one of the most recognized names in the gaming industry. Most recently, Square Enix released the highly-anticipated reboot of the series, simply titled Tomb Raider, on March 5, 2013 to critical acclaim.

In 2001 and 2003, Paramount Pictures made two feature films starring Angelina Jolie and based on the daredevil archaeologist on a series of global missions. The films grossed a total of $432 million worldwide.

Noxon's big screen work also includes I Am Number Four and Fright Night.

A lady writer on a female-based action franchise?!

:o

It makes perfect sense. And she's one of the few most women with pull in Hollywood so props to her.

Yeah. I have a female cousin named that too. I've seen it more for women than men.
