Did anyone else find The Descendants kind of overrated? I enjoyed it. Good performances, fine writing, but it was just missing something. I can't put my finger on what exactly, but I just didn't love it.

Haven't seen it yet, but I have trouble believing that Clooney gave a better performance than Fassbender in Shame. I like Clooney... but Fass was in a league of his own with that performance.

Heh, I'm glad to see someone thought Bridesmaids sucked. I didn't think it was a bad movie or anything, but Melissa McCarthy getting an Oscar nom makes me want to slam my head into a wall until it cracks open.

If it wasn't for Bellflower, I would put Bridesmaids as my #1 worst.

The first 20 minutes of Bridesmaids was AWFUL. I nearly turned it off after that (and I would have, had I not paid $6 bucks for On Demand so I figured I owed it to my monthly FIOS payment to give it a fair shot). I do think the film turned around after that and many parts were quite funny. But the overwhelming praise it has received just leaves me at a loss for words. It's basically just the female version of The Hangover, only less funny and with a weaker ending.
