This thread does what it says on the tin, what are your top 5 biggest gaming dissapointments?

1) GTA4
2) Halo 3
3) Spiderman 3
4) Fable (all those horrible broken promises)
5) Soul reaver 1 ending and having to wait 3 years for the concusion

surely halo 2 was more disappointing than halo 3.

Hmm I usually only buy games only if I know I won't be dissapointed but I guess I'll go with:

1. Knights of the Old Republic 2
2. Jak 2
3. Half-Life 2
4. Red Faction 2
5. Fallout Tactics/Brotherhood of Steel

Other mentions go to Metal Gear Ac!d and Assassin's Creed.

Soul Reaver 1 and GTA4 are far from the biggest dissapointments.

Mortal Kombat Armageddon is the biggest dissapointment for me. What a mess

the ending realy sucked for halo 2 for the same reason that soul reaver did but was expecting epic things with halo 3 and the game didnt even become enjoyable until the flood showed up on earth.

its not that the games were dissapointments apart from the overhyped gta4 but moments and crushing letdowns like the amazing soul reaver and having an epic battle with kane to be told to be continued

In no particular order...

Hellgate: London
KOTOR 2
Halo 2
Neverwinter Knights
Chrono Cross

And yet, I wouldn't really call any of these bad games, they were just overhyped.

Kane & Lynch and Assassins Creed are two recent ones that come to mind.

1. Halo 3
2. Assassins Creed
3.Iron Man
4.ShadowRun
5.BlackSite Area 51

I remember some hype about driver two and they did this big thing about being able to step out of cars and steal other ones, the graphics were aweful and i thought the game played worse than the original driver...it was easier to complete as well.

meh....

Really? May I ask why?

I dont really have, nor have i played many games that were disappointing. Im usually spot on when it comes to judging how a game will be before i play it and I'm rarely wrong. Also, i usually dont let the hype get to me(altho the GTA hype sucked me in), i rarely walk into a game thinking its the end all be all of videogames.

I guess id have to say Knights of the Old Republic 2. I mean GREAT game, but it wasnt what i had come to expect, being that the orig was so great. I cant really think of anything else.

Mostly all super hero/movie games with the exception of Spider-Man (1). I'd also say KOTOR 2 :(, but after reading most of the stuff here, I'm prepared for a letdown.

1. Mortal Kombat Armageddon
2. Smackdown Just Bring It
3. Kane and Lynch
4. Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub Zero
5. Assassins Creed

Oh yes Assasisn Creed. I forgot about that. That has got to be the biggest dissapointment of last year for me

I hear Assassins Creed is great.I haven't played but was thinking of getting it.is it worth it.

Advent Rising
Halo 2
Devil May Cry 2
Soul Calibur III
Final Fantasy XI (Mainly because I would have rather had a true FF than an MMORPG)

its good for the first hour until you realize how incredibly reptitive it is

Its absolutely worth playing. Period.

As a purchase, well thats up to the individual. Sure it was repetitive, but for me, i was sooo hooked on the story and the fantastic visuals and controls that i just didnt notice through my first play through.

I remebered what my biggest dissapointing game was, Splinter Cell : Double Agent.

After the FANTASTIC Chaos Theory, ecspecially the amazing co-op mode, i was expecting them to grow on that, instead they give us some hacked up, mediocre, scaled down version of vs mode but with AI enemies.

After completing the game I ran outside and bought all the Wrigley's Airwaves I could get my hands on.

Hah, not familiar with Wrigley's Airwaves, but id take that as a bad thing?
