Who do you guys think are the hardest characters to cast , make costume for, provide the right special effects for?

5. Venom - There are so many intricacies that have to be just right to bring this villain to life in a motion picture, I just don't see it happening. The tongue, the build, the tentacles, and most importantly the inner struggle. I know that personally, everytime a good artist drew Venom, he was always the first and last thing I looked at on a page. I've always been skeptical about a real life Venom but if they pull something off similar to Dr. Manhatten... my skepticism might be misplaced

4. Magneto- a handsome man with a build that rivals cyclops but is long past his prime and looks good in a purple spandex suit with an iron helmet on his head. We all love Ian Mckellen's Magneto (me included), but I don't think I am alone in wanting a more physical presence from the master of magnetism. Someone who you never want to cross.

3. Captain America- This iconic figure is not only one of the most popular characters known to comic books, but he also represents an almost unrealistic ideal of justice and non-violence. The portrayal of his infamous die-hard attitude would have to be perfect, not to mention the bodybuilder muscles and the skillful use of just a shield as a weapon against merciless villains.

2. Spider-Woman- The flying, the fighting skills, the hair, and, god, the body. Many females can look good in the suit, but few (if any) can pull it off, leaving audiences with their jaws dropped as Spider-woman in action should.

1. She-Hulk - a large athletic woman that is attractive and can act? Fahgeddaboutit. Also, if they went the CGI route, the She-Hulk form would be pretty much the first time they did a female in full CGI. Hulk is one thing (he is not too far from being a huge green monster), but She-Hulk is still a sexy creature green. Sexy CGI? Is that even possible.

I, by no means, think these characters would only work in movies if they were carbon copies of their comic book counterparts but I think the imagining of these characters in real life form would be more difficult than others. What do you guys think?

I made piece with the size of the person who will most likely play Captain America a long time ago, especially when you consider the talent coming from the group of people who fit the description.

Visually I thought Venom was good enough (not including the parts with the symbiote pulled back from Eddies face)

And Ian McKellan rocked the role of Magneto so much I dont care about his build. I include McKellan in the top 10 best cast comic characters

She-Hulk I think I agree with completely. Every possibility that has one aspect is missing another almost completely. I think again I'll just make piece with a smaller but fit She-Hulk

From what i know the 5 hardest characters to bring to screen are:

- The Punisher
- Daredevil
- Elektra
- Ghost Rider
- Venom

Punisher is certainly one of the hardest because of the 3X strikes.

I think we should definitely add Galactus to this list.

I disagree with this one. Galactus has 4 facial expressions max in the comics. If they can bring Kong to life, they can bring Galactus.

You didn't like Ray Stevenson's or Thomas Jane's Punisher?

What makes Daredevil so hard to bring to screen do you think? I see many actor / stunt double pairs being able to pull this off. Martial arts and good acting, that's quite common nowadays, no?

Namor - A movie shot almost entirely underwater(and not in diving suits like in The Abyss)? Good luck. The CGI budget for the hair, clothes, etc. alone would be staggering. Plus having a guy run around in nothing but a speedo would be hard to pull off as well.

I think the hardest would be:
sentry
Galactus
Silver surfer
she hulk
The leader

she hulk would be hard to accomplish and not get the audience to laugh

You'd have to go John Byrne She-Hulk. Less bulk and more sex appeal. Just paint Eva Mendes green and you'd be fine. Fitting her character in to a supporting role without making it seem silly would be the hardest part. I would never even try it if I were Marvel.

Captain America is an interesting point. You really need to get the costume right. That's the only part of the Ultimate Universe that I like. They got a live action Cap costume right. Dressing Cap in the 616 flag would look cheesy as hell live action. Those awful TV movies proved that fact.

She Hulk is the only one I think that will be difficult because of her height and getting a good actress that is 6'6+ to play the part. The rest can be done in the hands of the right director. Get Del Toro to do any of those superhero movies named above and I guarantee it will rock and be close to the source material.

^I've not been much of a fan of Del Toro's comic book work really. Maybe it's just that I don't care for Hellboy, I dunno. I don't think he(Del Toro) sucks or anything, he just chooses to work on stuff that has no appeal for me. The Hobbit will change that, though as I am eagerly anticipating it.

And Shulkie doesn't need a 6 and a half foot actress when stuff like forced perspective(ala' LOTR) is far more viable. Fill in some of the gaps with a bit'o CGI and whalla!! Instant She-Hulk movie. Namor'd be much harder to pull off.

Del Toro directed the first 2 Blade movies. Dude is great.............but like you I didnt care for Hellboy either. The character just doesn't appeal to me.

How is Namor hard to pull off? Just put some pointy ears and some wings on someone's foot and there is Namor.

The Watcher
Adam Warlock
Thanos
Cloak and Dagger
Dakota North

I thought Stephen Norrington directed Blade 1. Del Toro did Blade 2. And I'm not much of a Blade fan either. Not really into vampires.

Namor(done right) would be almost entirely shot underwater(or CGI'd to make it look that way) and I don't mean like they did in The Abyss with the diving suits and such. That would be incredibly difficult. All the characters would need to have their hair, clothes, etc. done by CGI to simulate the effects of being underwater. I mean every shot would need multiple effects going on simultaneously. The price tag would be gargantuan.

Co-sign on that one. Namor's budget would be extremely large, and there's no guarantee that it would make that kind of money back.

You could also add in 4 more with people like:

Luke Cage- When you think about it, you gotta have Luke be a big guy with some muscle after the experiment. You can't really use a body suit to simulate the muscles, because it would look too corny to take serious. To find an actor without making it a ******ed stereotype would be challenging for Hollywood.

Moon Knight- I think it would be hard for Moon Knight to look menacing in live action. His costume would come across too bright if they don't get the design right, and that's a thin line to be walking. I think Moon Knight is more suited for animation.

Mysterio- It would be really hard to pull the fishbowl off without looking laughable.:hehe:

Thor- Thor could come across as a goofy Lord of the Rings reject if the filmmakers don't take their time with it. Hopefully they don't fall into the use of crappy British accents like they do for every other "epic" movie.
