Of course Beckinsale gives good 'wife' ... and damn that was so dirty. I'm sorry. Really am. :)

Better trailer than the previous one. Still not sold.

Loved the new trailer, big fan of the original but I will see this, looks really good from the latest trailer.

I wouldn't be surprised if they used some of the ideas of the sequel that never happend.

Minority Report was a reworked script that was originally suppossed to be a sequel to the original Total Recall?!

Kinda, some of the info is a little misleading. In 92 they were going to make Minority Report's basic idea of seeing the future and arresting people mixed with what already happened in Total Recall, and following the same characters.

But in 97 someone else wrote a script, and it was Spielberg's version.

So the Minority Report we saw was nothing like the Total Recall 2 they had in mind, minus the idea of "precrime".

I think the trailer gave us a first look at one of the other futuristic vehicles in the movie.

Yes it was.
The producers had a draft which they were going to use for the sequel but due to problems it never got made. When producer showed SPielberg the script , he liked it enough to to use the script as well as the one he had commisioned along with his own ideas which turned into Minority Report.

Well that's very interesting and explains some things about Minority Report. Its a weird coincedence that without knowing about that, the new Total Recall art direction and design reminds me of Minority Report.

THe central theme in the sequel , which is just a minor thing in Minority Report is the whole notion of people or better yet Martian aliens being clairvoyant.

I was looking at the trailer again and was wondering about the clip below, is that a synthetic with the white bits ripped off, or perhaps some elite synthetic sent after Quaid?

The original Total Recall was a good movie. It just wasn't Total Recall.

Re: Minority Report

Pretty cool info. Almost like how the planned sequel to Masters Of The Universe turned into Van Damme's "Cyborg"

Side note but his story "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" that Blade Runner is based on was also a short story correct?
Nope.

Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? is a full on novel.

That actually happens a lot.

Die Hard: With a Vengeance was initially an original concept called "Simon Says", which was also considered to become Lethal Weapon 3.

Speed 2: Cruise Control was planned as a sequel to Die Hard 2.

Live Free or Die Hard was initially an original concept called "WW3.com".

Highlander 2: The Quickening was originally a sci-fi movie unrelated to the original Highlander.

Die Hard: Adapted from Roderick Thorp novel Nothing Last Forever. Nothing Lasts Forever was originally adapted as a sequel to the Arnold Schwarzenegger film Commando, but when Schwarzenegger turned down the role, the script was retooled in 1988 for the film Die Hard.

Die Hard 2: Adapted from Walter Wager's novel called 58 minutes.

This looks good, I'll be seeing it though I'm not completely sold on Jessica Biel but oh well.

the movie is predicted to only gross 90mill domestic with a 200mill budget not lookin good.i think colin ferrell is a bad choice for a blockbuster i was so lookin forward to this remake until he was cast as the lead.

Why did Maxim even put that pic of Ferrell? It's taking up space for more Beckinsale and Biel. :o

I think some of the video game type visuals of the trailers look cool. And I want to see it. I'm not completely sold on Farrell, but I like things like those cyborg drones and the futuristic city setting. The other thing is well I really enjoy the original Total Recall which definitely earned its R-rating. This will be a much softer version.

I think that new TV Spot is the best out of all the other spots out there. Freaking finally. New footage. Only a month to go.
