Sequels Transformers 6 and future sequels thread

Yeah I think they thought it was going to be some sort of deep revelation, but I actually prefer the disconnect between us and the Transformers. There's no need for us to be so closely connected.

Having them be part of the Knights of the Roundtable and everything else is just ridiculous to me.

Well, I guess I'll sacrifice my copy of the 1986 animated film to the Transformers gods in hope that he doesn't. If that isn't enough, I'll go find Stan Bush and sacrifice him.

Lol, I think the critics will accept any other director at this point.
The Bayformers films were fun for those who liked them, but it time to move on

Like I mentioned earlier, it's Wahlberg's statement that has me concerned.

"Hey there little guy, are you a transformer? Say hi to your mom for me."

Here, here. Her performance as Quintessa was terrific, imo. Cold, creepy and manipulative.

Now hopefully they actually explain who she really is in the next one. She says she's the 'Prime of Life', yet the Knights call her a deceiver, so who knows what she's told Optimus is true or not, other than Unicron being on Earth.

Chan was awesome as Quintessa, by far one of the best parts of the movie. She needed more screen time if anything.

You should give the "Quintessa" track in the score a listen. So creepy. There was so much potential for this movie.

Agree there was huge potential here. AOE set up a good few potentially great storylines and TLK managed to drop the ball on every single one of them.

Oh, I have. :hehe:

I've been listening to the entire score since I've seen it. If there's one consistently good thing about these movies that I think we all can agree on, is that Steve Jablonsky always delivers on the score side of things.

They really should have clarified who Quintessa really was. Having the Knights say she's a deceiver makes you question if anything (besides Unicron) she said was true. They left her character too vague, which thankfully can be rectified in the next one under better management.

Her track has to be one of the best TF villain themes alongside Sentinel Prime's, imo.

I keep seeing references to "Witwiccans" all over the place in discussions about this movie. Can someone explain to me what they are? Are they worshippers of the Moon Goddess who run around shouting, "NO NO NO!" during rituals?

They're supposedly the bloodline that branched off from Merlin who "keep the secrets of the Transformers history" safe or some such ****.

The music in ROTF when Optimus was fighting off the Decepticons was epic.

Optimus vs the Decepticons was the best part of ROTF. Seriously. It's such a shame we didn't even get a fight scene on that scale or caliber for TLK. The fight scenes were seriously devoid of effort. Prime vs Bee was pretty cool. "Did you forget who I am?" moment was badass. Other than that, everything else pretty much let me down.

Optimus vs Lockdown in AoE was so badass. That shot where Lockdown shouts "PRIME!" and blows up the bridge while landing on the ground. :hmr:

In the time since the last Transformers adventure more Autobots and Decepticons have come to Earth to fight it out,a splinter group from the military has been established to keep them under control or just make them blow up real good, and we have Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager trying to make a safe haven for and defend the Autobots from the splinter group and a plucky girl Isabela Moner as Izabella trying to do the same.
On top of this here comes Cybertron again trying to over take Earth and only a lost relic can stop it

So what did i like about this 5th Transformers flick? I actually liked this a bit better...and i mean a bit better than the last flick. The SFX,3D,and action sequences are flawless,i thought a couple of new characters were interesting with a nice look to them

I know Michael Bay's feeling is: I dont care if you complain because you are going to see the movie anyway!! It's unfortunate he feels that way and it's just unfortunate all of the good things are coupled with a terrible script,so much time is wasted on silly banter.Characters that were hyped up in the trailers, introduced in the movie ,and favorites vanish for at least an hour,or have brief moments and are never seen again.
Sight gags are grating and painfully unfunny, stereotypical characters dance around the screen like something out of a nightmare.

The story could have worked, but there are way to many plot holes and inconsistent moments. Some of the actors arent bad but what they are given to work with makes them look brain dead.Whenever the film slows down i kept hoping the scene of anyone talking would just end quickly.

This is what i suggest rent the movie, fast forward to any action sequence, marvel at it,and move on with your life

Scale of 1-10 a 5

Yup, agreed. TLK's score is fantastic. Listen to it on it's own and you get the feeling TLK could be an awesome, epic movie. Combine with the actual movie and you get TLK.

It never fails. I love how whenever a big movie like this gets savaged by critics, they still will put out a TV spot with positive quotes from critics' reviews. I wonder how long it took them to find a few reviews that said something mildly complementary.

This summer, go see the movie critics are calling "a movie!" Jim Whatshisname of the Wichita Review calls Transformers: The Last Knight "a less embarrassing paycheck role for Anthony Hopkins than Thor 2!" And Spencer Richards from the Alabama Alt-Right Monthly Newsletter calls Transformers 5 "delightfully racist!" Go see it today!

RedLetterMedia released three videos on this movie!

They're supposedly the bloodline that branched off from Merlin who "keep the secrets of the Transformers history" safe or some such ****.

I'm sorry, but this plot sounds like it was written by a five-year-old, lol. I know the Transformers franchise has a history of being corny, but some of this Merlin and Kind Arthur stuff sounds a bit too juvenile.

Which is ironic since the G1 cartoon actually used a similar plotline for an episode.

Seriously. 'A Decepticon Raider In King Arthur's Court' is a thing. Look it up. :funny:

I actually watched that episode when I heard what the premise of this movie was, lol. I can give that a little leeway since it was aimed at a much younger crowd, but even that struck me as a particularly juvenile premise. But even that didn't have all the "descended from Merlin" stuff. This now means that Sam was not a normal kid, but actually a descendant of a wizard. For live-action movies, I wish they'd just stick to building the story forward and stop all the alternate history stuff, especially anything pre-1900. When they do that, it completely eliminates the "disguise" element that the franchise revolves around.

Technically it was $69 million since it opened on Wednesday, but it's still a far cry from the glory days of the franchise.

Thank you Drizzle for the clarification. I just did a short search on Google news to see some #s info. There were too many reviews and really why even bother with a Transformers review.

The G1 cartoon plot was smarter.

Technically it was $69 million since it opened on Wednesday, but it's still a far cry from the glory days of the franchise. Dark of the Moon made almost $100 million more than that over a 5-day opening six years ago. If they think they're making more than maybe two more of these, they have delusions of grandeur. There's probably just enough steam for a Transformers 6 to wrap things up for good and the Bumblebee movie before this cow is completely milked. It had its day in the sun for a few years but now Avengers and Star Wars rule the toy aisles.

I don't think Wednesday and Thursday count as part of the weekend box office. Box Office Mojo lists the weekend as $44.68 million while the total for the week was listed as $68.47 million.
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekend&id=transformers5.htm

As another reason the previous days don't count for the weekend, T3 opened on Monday, June 27, 2011. But Box Office Mojo only counts July 1-4, 2011 as the weekend, where T3 made $115.89 million for the weekend,
but $180.65 million total at the end of the weekend.
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekend&id=transformers3.htm

So if one is going to claim T5 made $68.47 million for the weekend, then T1 made $155.41 the first weekend, T2 made $200.08 million, T3 made $180.65 million, and T4 made $100.04 million the first weekend.
Basically the franchise peaked at T2 and has been dropping every since as far as domestic box office.

Well. At least it was kinda fun.

And they do the Unicron is Earth thing from Transformers: Prime. Why not.
