Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

Look... G1 was fine for the 80's.. but..It if you can watch it now and call it "better" than a great show like Prime, the Cybertron games or even Beast Wars (which also hasn't aged well) well.. then there's I don't know what to say.

As far as better animation...I still remember the Episode where Jazz changed colors randomly scene by scene...

G1 is great for nostalgia but almost every Transformers show/comic book that came after it has been better. G1, the show, was more or less an extended toy commercial.

Bull****. The animation is really well done, especially for it's time. It's aged much better than ReBoot which was similar to it back then. The episodes are still great, too.
 
For it's time Beast Wars animation was great. Now? Not so much.

It hasn't aged well...I'm sure in 10-15 years I'll say the same about Prime's animation...However, I feel the story line will still be fairly solid.
 
No, the animation is still good, especially the characters. When I think of something that hasn't aged well, I think of something like X-Men.
 
...For computer animation it hasn't aged well. I do animation.. I'm not the worlds most super expert on computer art design but... It's not something I would say is still good. I don't feel like I'm insulting Beast Wars. It's still a good show over all.. my son loves it..

However, when I look at it I'm a little bit "eh" on the look now because of what I've learned on computer animation and design.
 
Yeah, compared to now it's lackluster but it was way ahead of it's time. The characters I thought were great, I recall the scenery being a bit underwhelming (probably to compensate). I definitely disagree on it aging poorly because I can still watch it without it hurting my eyes unlike some old PS1/N64 games. Now the majority of those have aged VERY poorly.
 
I'm just a bit more picky on art/design than I ever was before. It's not unwathable or anything. I absolutely LOVE Prime's design.. Even the figures from that line look fantastic.

Design wise... even if most (Starscream/Soundwave) are far off from the original character looks. They still look nice.
 
Its just nostalgia why anyone thinks those shows from the 80's are good. Those things are horrible.

Altho, watching some of the g1 episodes that were on Transformers: RoTF game, i can agree that the animation isn't that bad. Its everything else.

the Rodimus era was awesome though(but that was when the 90's came about) and even though I keep hearing this about it being a made as a long toy commercial they went all out on making the stories mean something with mega tron coming up with a complected scheme more so then some shows today on prime time tv these days and even that early part of the early thunder cats. now that latter show was more so of what you said then TF the latter parts of that show got better though due to what TF and GI joe did story wise. but what ever not as important Right now.

The G1 bashing is ridiculous.

The characters are more iconic than anything to come after and Transformers The Movie is still fun to watch 25 years later. Not to mention the many comics and video games that have expanded on G1.



 
Sorry, but the animation is pretty dated and a lot of episodes are really lame and campy, in typical 80's fashion. Historically and culturally significant, but not the best Transformers media of all time.

Something tells me no one's mind is going to be changed anytime soon.
 
If you grew up with it, I'm sure you still like it. But having grown up with better cartoons like Batman, Superman, Gargoyles, and Beast Wars, I just can't enjoy it that much. I also really hated Welker's Megatron voice.

So i forgot i preordered from Amazon when i bought the game from Gamestop on Tuesday.

Iv got both the Optimus dlc code and the Bruticus dlc codes up for grabs(both are 360). Any suggestions on how i go about handing these things out? First come first serve?

I finished the campaign today and it was just awesome the whole way through. It never bogged down like i felt WfC did at points. I did feel it was a tad short and the ending was a but abrupt but other than that it was just awesome. GRIMLOCK IS THE S**T!

Iv been playing the MP for the last few hours and for the most part i like it. My last match i ended up going 18/4 the second best on my team was a paltry 4/9. We lost. My only gripe so far is i feel they need to tweak some of the weapons. I primarily use the tank class and i dont know how many times iv put 2 damn shells into someone only for them to shrug it off like nothing happened. So far its been pretty fun. High Moon knows how to make a Transformers game, thats for sure. Really hope we get another one.
 
I feel the Tanks and Scientists are a bit too weak and that the Fusion Canon is a bit too over powered.
