That rating for a movie is fairly good

Truth be told, as an old (pre-Spidey) Raimi fan, I had been expecting a totally different SM3 (a lot darker--- something Raimi is totally capable of had he chosen or been allowed to do). The reviews prepared me tho.... so I walked away not hating the movie and actually appreciating a lot of it (if a bit underwhelmed).

Pretty high for a Bay flick. The highest his movies have scored is a 7.1 with The Rock. But we'll have to see when we get 80,000 more votes.

In comparison...Spielberg's War of the Worlds scored a 6.7.

Nah. Unless The Shining or American Psycho is "emo." I was expecting black-suit Spidey to be in a lot more. From beginning to near-end with slow decline in Peter's mental health. I still didn't hate what we got.

I hated Venom in SM3. I agree with Harry from AICN when he stated that Raimi should NOT have done Venom. Not because Raimi doesn't like Venom...but because he doesn't understand Venom. Raimi was definitely a silver age SM fan...you can see it all over SM2. But the Venom chapter of SM3 was just overkill...it would have been leagues better if it were just Sandman and Goblin Jr.

But I still liked it.

Is it possible that the film is resonating with female viewers? All the talk of it being an insular teen action film -- is it appealing to more than the core fan audience?

It does look like the core fandom is still split (again, presuming these are legit votes and not sabotage attempts). If the vote is sabotaged, it seems to be reflected here, as these two groups get the only significant drops:

My girlfriend loved it. And my brother, who usually nitpicks everything, loved it. Both me and my brother work with communication within the navy and we were impressed with the high standard of realistic comms (although some minor mistakes).

I gave it a 10 on IMDB, and I have only given around 10 10's of the many hundred of movies I've rated. My girl gave it an 8 and my brother a 9.

yah me to, no lower than 7.5, and thats high for an imdb rating. anything above a 6 on imdb is worth, some thins things below it deserve higher ratings such as Batman Forever i think it had a 5, or 5 something/10. it deserves at least a 6.5, me personally 7.5

If this movie gets over 7.5 then it is BIG. Movies like this seldom gets over 7.

It would be fantastic if it managed to get on IMDB top 250 list, but I doubt it. The IMDB voters don't know squat ****

and that top 250 list is changing all the time. just look at the number of votes there, some has more 200k and some only 4k votes. let time prove everything.
