While I wasn't as annoyed by them as many have been, I would have substituted Hot Rod for the two of them. At least he'd have served more of a purpose/made sense if you just have to have a hip-talking younger Autobot...

I agree. Hot Rod would've been great in that travel group. Ever since the first movie I wanted him to be Mikaela's car/guardian/friend, just like Sam and Bumblebee. :woot:

Sideswipe and Arcee teaming up to take on Devastator would've been such an awesome moment. Instead I found myself rooting for Devastator to kill those punks.

I want to thank Michael Bay for saving me a crap load of money in the future. Between Transformers and its sequel, I never have to buy another mindless, summer tentpole film on DVD ever again. These two films will be enough.

On a serious note, the harshness from critics towards this film is just way over the top. It doesn't even remotely deserve it. It was fun as hell, if a bit too long, not because it has too convoluted a plot, but because of the ad lib humor and the fact that you can tell that Bay really had no time to polish this film.

The first film is technically better because its more polished. But, the same thing that plagued the first film plague this one. Take out Leo, tone down SOME of the humor and rethink the spots you use the robots for and this film works like gain busters.

Still, even with 200 million, Bay still had to shoot around the robots and pick his spots to let the robots have their glory. Sucks, but unfortunately, there's really no way around it.

As an aside, gotta give Shia and Megan props for throwing their bodies around and going full on with their work. They have a great chemistry together even if the arc of their little story is incomplete. Their scenes, if you look at them independently from the film, work extremely well. You can tell Megan has improved as an actress.

This idea that it has no plot is kind of stupid. It does. You just have to pay attention and also think about Megatron's purpose in the first film to really sort it out. It's not hard.

Transformers, 3 stars
Revenge of the Fallen, 2 and three quarters stars.

Imagine if Sideswipe would've been swallowed up. It's quite for short moment and suddenly you see Sideswipe's blades bursting out of Devastator's face and and cutting it wide open. I get chills just thinking about it. So many possible great moments ruined, all just because Bay wanted the twins in there.

Stop it with these awesome ideas. They're making me sad. :csad:

What about Jolt and those energy whips? He could've had a great fight scene with Skorponok (example).

Opening scene for TF3: Skids and Mudflap saying stupid **** and than getting blown to hell by Soundwave. What do you think? :woot:

it was an entertaining movie with a lot of action. dark_b admits here and today that there was TO MUCH action. way to much action.
i think the humor was not so bad. my whole theater was laughing like crazy with every joke. i guess we are ''stupid''. all in all its a 100% Bay movie on steroids. i think a studio should never give Bay so much money again. way to much action. of course i am joking. there can not be to much action hehehehehehehehe.

what i didnt like :
-the writters said that in the first movie they didnt have soundwave because there was no story for him. so i expected soundwave to have an important role in this movie. no. he is only in space and is listening. nothing IMO. he should have been down on earth.
-megatron. since when is megatron a puss...? the fallen is hes master? what is this? star wars?
-fallen character was pathetic. i am aware that this was a Bay movie and i am aware that last year there was as writters strike. but come on. the Fallen was all the time in space? i thought there would be a connection to the gods in the past. i thought he was in egypt and they would awake him.
-arcee: there was not a single shot where arcee was in full frame standing still. not once.
-the music. nothign new. nothing that would stand out. they even used the same music at the end. why? this is an expensive movie i want to see and hear something new.
-the ending. i didnt like that they were just in a ship and OP starts to talk and end.
-TRANSFORMATIONS. what????. the title is Transformers. i can not belive that this new movie didnt have good transformation. in the first movie you remember almost every transformation because they were so unique and new. the first transformation of OP: it was epic. or the last oen from OP when he comes out of the alley. amazing. or even BB . here there was nothing that would stand out. they didnt even transform so much IMO.

i like the movie for what it is. i like it because i knew what i would get. but still there were some mistakes in this movie that should not happen. to me the first movie made a bigger impact then this one. it was something special.

As much as I would love to see the Twins getting blown to smithereens, I wouldn't waste a fraction of a second of screentime on the them. All we need is a Mission Briefing where they say the Twins got destroyed by the Decepticons. Preferably, I would want them to act as if they never existed.

Even better.

What do you think about my thoughts on Jolt?

I think the chances of seeing Jetfire return are pretty much gone.

And I'm pretty opinionless about Jolt. Did he even have any lines?

^ I know Jetfire is gone. I thought we were talking about what we would've preferred to see in this movie.

Jolt didn't have any lines (which sucked). I just think he could've been used in at least one good fight scene with his seriously cool energy whips.

Along with what you said about Sideswipe cutting open Devastator's face. It would've been awesome to see all, or most, of the Autobots fighting him at the same time. Ironhide with his cannons, Ratchet with his axe (seen in the first movie), Jolt with his whips etc.

i forgot some thing . OPTIMU PRIME in this movie is the definition of badass. when he is in the forest he was already kickng ass . but then when he stands up and says "I'll take you all on!" then it was over. no more mister nice guy. this was no city with people running around. this was an empty place and Sam was running away. he was kicking and he was owning them all. i can not belive how good this was.

It would've been nice to see an Autobot Vs. Decepticon dog fight, but Jetfire would've been wasted. He was already breaking apart.

As for Jolt, they could've probably made some decent fight scenes with the energy whips. There could've been a lot of focus on the other Transformers if they wouldn't have force fed us the Twins.

Just got back from seeing this. Call me crazy, but with the exception of the twins and a few nonsense scenes (simmons jock strap?! so much genital humor....) I thought this was 100% better than the first movie, which I really didn't like. This felt like a live action version of a cartoon in a way the first flick missed.

Replace Jetfire with Silverbolt and put it in the next movie. :woot:

Sorry guys. I've just got all these ideas in my head and I have to let it out to people who actually might care. :yay:

Thinking clearly about the franchise the Movie is based on, I can't blame Bay and co. on the final battle with the Clone Decepticons anymore. G1 alone had Starscream and like 2 or 3 other Decepticons that looked exactly like him, only colored differently. And he wasn't the only Transformer that had duplicates running around. So I give Bay a pass.

Very true Nathan.

Listen, I actually thought the twins were funny but because of the mission, I wouldn't have them there with Bumblebee. It would've been Sideswipe instead.

The idea of having Ironhide, Ratchet, Arcee, and Jolt at Nest to look over Optimus Prime was fine. But, Sideswipe would've definitely been there with Bumblebee on the new mission they were on in the second half of the film.

As for the end battle sequences in Egypt, instead of doubling the Constructicons(even if that type of thing did happen in the original series as Nathan pointed out), I would've had Megatron, Starscream, Ravage, Scroponok, Barricade, and another Decepticon doing the fighting. Cut down on some of the military Nest footage and concentrate a little more on the robots, that end sequence works.

There's not that many changes that need to happen to make this film easily a four star film. But, it is what it is and the good far, far outweigh the bad in this thing. And the bad isn't bad. It's just indulgent.

I thought Transformers ROTF was the best movie of the year. I'll be seeing it again friday. Then after a few weeks I'll go see it in IMAX.

I grew up the same way watching a numer of R rated films but obviously like yours, my parents raised me right and taught me right from wrong.

I'm sorry but I don't like to do generalizations but from what I've seen of our current society and the numbers increasing on teen pregnancies(which has happened to a number of people I know personally in the past) I don't see there being nearly as many responsible and dedicated parents out there anymore.

Look at the society we live in, no one likes to take responsibility for their actions and everyone is sue happy, even when whatever happened to them turns out to be their fault(Dumb ***** who spilt coffee on herself from McDonalds was one of the starters of this ignorant and childish trend). It's not a great thing or attitude to be shown/reflected on our youth, I've already seen too many really young kids that are spoiled brats on a level I never knew as a kid in the 80's. It's all about the maturity of the parents truthfully but I agree with Danoyse to an extent because I just don't see it in our society.
because there are bad paresnt we can not have that kind of movies?

I saw the movie and I was actualy happily surprised. After having read many of the critics I was expecting to hate it but I did not.

The action was mostly good and it was nice to see Optimus being the hero. There were obvious problems of course especially with the desert battle (I guess several decepticons can be in two places at once) and some of the humour was questionable.

All in all, however, I enjoyed it.

3.5/5

My theory is that the Constructicons that formed Devastator are different Constructicons that revived Megatron and that we see throughout the movie. For example, when Simmons and Leo was driving Mudflap in the open desert area, there was already a green truck (Long Haul) parked in the middle of the area and then you see a shot of another green truck pull up to the side right before you see the other Constructicons come to form Devastator. The group that form Devastator must be a different group because if it was the same group that we saw throughout the film, when they got blasted by the rail gun they could have just split into their seperate beings.

To me, there's so much Bay could of explored or do with the TFs. Like why not have Acree and Mikaela team up, i mean Mikaela was already riding a bike..why not have them team up..It would of made sense having her (acree) with them instead of the twiins, Acree could of been ordered by Prime to follow them similiar to how Bumblee did in the first film. Acree could came right at that "pretender moment" Her and Mikaela could of even had their "girl power moment" and for a little bit of a laugh. Had Bumble bee and Sam roll their eyes at it or something..that would of made sense and i thought would of been cool

and someone mention this already but Bay should of (as part as the final scene) had an air attack between starscream and jetfire..that would of been cool...could of even throw a line in there from starscream about jeftfire being a trader...

i mean things like this were completely missed..that's why i really hope someone esle takes this franchise on...
