I know, I always stay till the credits are over, but we didn't get anything.

I didn't feel like staying too because I was reading blogs and some people have mention that they didn't see anything other then scene where Sam went back to class and Mekala and Sam got on a bike. But I decided to stay, hoping for chance to see something...there I was amazed by this last sequence....a intro to the the 3rd one.

I didn't mind the Gremlins, except for the one that had the red glowing, phallic cannon between it's legs.

And the movie isn't all too bad, but there are just too many uneccesary sex jokes and implications and one hairy man ass too many. And putting focus on the Twins when you've already got Bumblebee and Wheelie for comedic relief.

This movie didn't have the best explaination for the story, alot of plot holes but alot more robot fighting. You just can't go into it expecting a great story.

Now one thing I thought they should have explore more with when the revival of Megatron. This scene felt really rush.

i understand what you mean.

i will not act like this is the best they can do. i now that they could do better.i know it. and it would not be hard. for example the story ''tell me you love me....no you tell me first '' was idiotic and even more worse then the spiderman crying IMO.

but people need to realize something. sex jokes will always be in a Bay movie. funny ass shots will always be in a Bay movie. remember in bad boys 2 when Marcus gets shot in the ass? this is 100% Bay. i am sorry for some people that this is their TF franchise but you can not expect Bay to change. he will not. this was not the first time and not the last time.

I'm not asking for much, he just needs to town it down to Transformers 1 level of humor. I really hope someone important raised an eyebrow when they saw the humping dogs and Devastator's dangling balls and tell Bay to just tone it down. And hand him a better script.

The humping dogs I didn't think was a big deal...it was funny and also same goes for Wheelie humping Makela's leg. Devastators having balls was a surprise...bulldoze balls to be precise. Just imagine if that think fell and hit Simmons, he'll die for sure.:woot:

i udnerstand the dogs. but the metal balls from Devastator was crossing the line.

if this makes tons of money then they will not change it. :cwink::hehe:

I could live without seeing devastator's balls. I was like...omg. Of course I laughed but that was unnecessary.

The dogs humping part I was fine with that. As for Wheelie dry humping Megan's leg...sure it was funny but again unnecessary. Just glad that it only lasted 3 seconds and Sam told Wheelie to stop. hehe.

I'm actually suprised that Speilburg is going along with this. I know this film is PG-13 but TF is clearly being marketed toward kids. The vast number of commercial for this movie have been on networkd like Nick, Cartoon Network,etc..moreso than any other network. With all the sexual induendo..i dunno it's odd............

i actually belive that the only reason TF2 got a PG-13 rating is because of Spielberg.

because there are bad paresnt we can not have that kind of movies?

LOL, way to put words in my mouth. Learn to read(and spell) better before commenting. What I was saying, wasn't that we can't have movies like that, but for a PG-13 summer film the humour is crossing into the R rated territory and a lot of people will be probably won't be too happy about that since it has a PG-13 rating so they think they can bring some of their young ones.

In this post you basically agreed with me. :)

I think this line sums up the whole movie

"I don't know what's going on but we have to keep running"

I actually liked the fact that they were added in. PRetty emotional when the father didn't want to let his son go. Kind of reminded me of that scene in War Of The Worlds (2005).

Agreed, that must have been the most emotional scene in the movie, when Sam's parents didnt want to let him go, awesome scene, I loved it.

My favorite scenes that are emotional are:

Megatron stabbing Optimus and Optimus asking Sam to run. Right there you see the emotion build up in Sam's eyes and he finally understand why Optimus need his helped and how much these robots mean to him.

When Sam's parent's wouldn't want him to go alone...that was a powerful scene.

The last scene is when Sam got blasted by Megatron and they thought he die...you see Makela breaking down plus his parents running towards him...that was good too.

My opinion on Transformers 2 -

I came to the conclusion that I was watching a steaming pile of s%*t about 10 minutes into this debacle, and without sounding dramatic If I hadn't paid good money to see it I would happily have walked out of the cinema at that point.

I feel I have a duty to play my part to get the overall score of this movie as low as possible (at time of this review 7.2 out of 10, WAY to high).

Why such hostility towards the movie? I will explain what I hated so much about it.

1. First two minutes, 17,000 BC. Please.....

2. The whole Witwicky family, especially that annoying (now turned comedian) Mother. The college scene where she makes a complete twit of herself?? WTF....

3. Every supermodel/porn-star shot of Mikaela, cringe, cringe and lets all cringe again. Megan Fox can't act for toffee. The conversation at the start on the phone to Sam, the music during it. WTF....

4. In an age of technology (That Michael Bay is constantly making us aware of) How the hell do these Robots stay a secret. Causing carnage in Shanghai, anyone got a camera phone handy? Obviously not as Prime and his buddies still remain top secret after their mission, and what a confusing blend of CGI that mission was....

5. Characters that are annoying to the EXTREME or none existing in their development. The twins?? and who are all these other Transformers?? WTF....

6. Is this a kids movie? The first certainly catered for all ages but not this one. However I'm also confused as the level of pornographic/adult humour was intense, it wasn't even cleverly ambiguous or subtle, just totally in your face. So much so I'm pretty sure even the kids knew what was going on with some of the comments....

7. Shia having his mental breakdown stage. WTF....and ANNOYING....

8. Michaels constant (wet dream on film) love for the US Military. ENOUGH we know you're a boy scout, Superman isn't as bad as this idiot. Why, Michael do ALL your movies look and play out the same? (Explosions, slow-mo, golden sun, explosion, USA military rules, more slow-mo etc etc etc....) Give it up or at least try to evolve as a film maker....

9. The amount of running, goodness sake Sam had to run and run and run. Use Bumblebee? Also how BAD are the decepticons at killing people?

10. TOO many comic reliefs, Sam room-mate, the parents, the twins, Sector 6 guy, please too many STOP....

11. Plot/script....totally useless and almost non-existent.

12. Acting from EVERYONE (With the exception of a couple of voice actors).

13 Last but not least, the direction. Utterly disastrous.

I could keep going but will leave it at 13. I enjoyed the first movie, so was cautiously looking forward to the sequel, hoping it could grow the Transformers universe and build on the good foundations of the first. How wrong I was, this was appalling. MIND NUMBINGLY APPALLING....

Oh and as for the "What do you expect from a movie about giant robots" attitude to criticism of this movie. Well I expect EVEN a popcorn summer blockbuster to have some level of plot and depth. Certainly beyond the 5 year old humour, US Military recruitment video's and CGI warriors CONSTANTLY fighting each other we have on display here. I can switch off my brain and still follow at least some kind of coherent plot.

The spectacle of the CGI effects has ran its course, its no longer "WOW that amazing, look at Optimus transform!" You need to have more than that up your sleeve Mr Bay. Star Trek this summer indicates you can have crazy CGI, appropriate humour with some depth, and STILL have a popcorn summer blockbuster.

AVOID.

Selected "Really bad" in the poll.

I also liked the part with Sam earning the Matrix of Leadership. I know people don't like the human focus, but I thought it worked really well. Optimus gave his life to protect Sam and Sam did everything in his power to bring him back to life. No matter the odds. And for his selfless act, for risking his own life, the Primes deemed him worthy. Good stuff.

i also liked this.

but then the scene with Mikaela destroyed it all. you know in your mind you were thinking '' please Bay dont let her say i love you to bring him back'' and it happened. :csad:

I didn't really mind. He would've come back anyway, he just had a little talk with the Primes first.

Must be wrong, I can't believe that Turturro would be able to pull that voice off.

Mark Ryan, an English actor/stuntman who worked on set on the first film doing the voices of the autobots (and also did BB's voice at the end), voiced Jetfire in ROTF.

That was a very good scene .

Ah, hyperbole.

TRANSFORMATIONS. what????. the title is Transformers. i can not belive that this new movie didnt have good transformation.

You cannot be serious.

Tell me you're not serious.

Right off the bat, you've got Optimus Prime transforming in mid air AND on the ground, Ironhide's introduction, Bumblee's first transformation and his return to car form several times in the film, Sideswipe...Arcee...all fantastic transformations. Megatron's tank form transformations were great as well.

It doesn't help when probably an hour of the film is dedicated to horrible comic relief that has absolutely nothing to do with the film. Example, the mom eating weed brownies.

An hour? Maybe, maybe 10-15 minutes, 20 tops. They spent maybe 30 seconds to a minute on his mom going nutso.

Why? I don't know. Maybe it's because she has a contract that gives her a certain amount of screentime. Because that scene will open up other possibilities for her in other films. There are a million reasons why. It's not that big a deal, really.

It seemed like eevery single ****ing line was a sarcastic remark attempting to get a giggle from the audience. It's like "how about a serious piece of dialogue PLZ".

There are plenty of serious moments in the movie, and no, every single line is not a joke.

Why is a sight gag with "Transformer balls" such a big deal? Why are people THAT upset about it? It's a sight gag, people. Nothing more, nothing less.

Why do people do things like watch the first movie, like it, and then come into the second movie somehow expecting things like Ironhide and Ratchet, who had very little screentime and development in the first movie to have more screentime and development in a movie where even more characters are introduced?

And Sam's parents were not "heavily featured". They were in relatively few scenes.

Leo...Leo is there to give you an idea of how the public sees the events in the first movie. To flesh out the idea of the cover up from another angle. And yes, he's silly, and he's zany, and he's a tool, but he's not that bad.

Irondhides introduction? you mean the first transformation? the camera was so close that you didnt know what was happening.

in the first movie when OP transfors for the last time it was close but you saw all the details and it was daytime. here with Ironhide you have a black car at night and the camera so close that you see nothing.

Since when is "that stuff sucks, but it wasn't in it THAT much" in anyway a viable defense? And if you still feel like defending the films narrative structure, why not give this a read: http://blogs.suntimes.com/scanners/2009/06/the_toy_that_does_all_the_play.html

Of course you don't have to read it, but it would definitely help since the person who wrote this article (and the critics he quotes) actually knows what he's talking about. But that probably won't matter to you much.

The movie was a 6 out of 10 for me. The story was very poorly executed and some of the scenes were not necessary for the plot's advancement. In addition, I cannot believe they wasted the Matrix of Leadership story line into such a trivial thing as a key that collects energy. The first one was a 9. In my opinion, the 1986 film far surpasses these recent attempts. I think we were just spoon-fed crap because as fanboys we will eat it.

Yes, his first transformation.

I could see what was happening just fine, and so, I suspect, could a lot of other people. Not being able to name all the pieces and parts of the car as he's transforming doesn't destroy the moment. It was clearly Ironhide, and his form took shape in a very visible way.

I'm not defending it. I'm assessing the impact it had on the overall film in a realistic manner, because few others seem able to do so. People are so worked up about it, they're making ridiculous statements about how much bad stuff was in the movie, about how much time was wasted, etc, which just makes them even more worked up.

I'm putting it in perspective.
