I don't understand that review, to be quite honest.
I find it to be a very fun and enjoyable game and it is REALLY cool transforming from robot to vehicle fluidly.
THEY PLAY A GAME OR WATCH A MOVIE AND IF IT ISN'T OSCAR WORTHY, IT SUCKS!!!
A GAME OR A MOVIE CAN'T JUST BE FUN AND ENJOYABLE ANYMORE, IT HAS TO BE OSCAR WORTHY, WHICH I THINK IS A LOAD OF CRAP MADE UP BY PEOPLE WHO DON'T SEEM TO ENJOY ANYTHING THESE DAYS!!! I'M NOT SAYING THEY'RE ALL LIKE THAT, BUT PEOPLE JUST SEEM TO COMPLAIN ABOUT EVERY LITTLE THING THESE DAYS AND JUST SEEM TO BE SPOILED!!!
PERSONALLY I THINK THE GAME ROCKS, IS IT PERFECT, NO, IS IT FUN, I THINK SO, FLAME AWAY!!!
I got the game this afternoon as well(xbox360) and its not horrible, but its not very good either... the graphics are very dark, gameplay is kinda clunky, and what I've played so far is extremely repetetive.
The plus side is that its Transformers, and the transformations and character designs are very nice. I have only unlocked a couple of movies and pictures from the galleries so far but it seems to have alot of extras(G1 characters to unlock) and I have HD so its pretty nice. But yea for $60, i feel pretty pwned. Its a 40-50 dollar game.
6.8/10

I PERSONALLY THINK GAME CRITICS AS WELL AS MOVIE CRITICS ARE, FOR THE MOST PART JADED AT THIS POINT!!!THEY PLAY A GAME OR WATCH A MOVIE AND IF IT ISN'T OSCAR WORTHY, IT SUCKS!!!

up:
You know what? I not only can agree with what you just said, but that makes me tempted to buy the game also.
OK, so about the IGN review. From those that have the game. Are the Autobot missions really that flat? Are they really just drive around and kill some drones?
And is it really that easy to destroy buildings just by barely touching them?
There is destruction, yeah, but they exagerated it- brushing up against buildings? Never saw that before. Hitting a bad guy into buildings? Three to four punches at a building? YEAH. But, brushing up against it- must be the weakest building ever.
I also think the Transformers cause more destruction depending on who it is. For example, Ironhide causes ALOT of damage- Jazz and Bumblebee, not so much in comparison.
So, I haven't played as Optimus yet- but, he may damage the area like that. But, still I think that comment is exagerated.
I've personally never "brushed" up against a building and had it be destroyed by doing that.
Okay, so I've spent an hour or so playing the Wii version now. The first thing that stood out to me is that the voice acting is so quiet when compared to the in-game sound and there's no setting to turn it up. The only problem with that is the voice-overs continue during your mission, and I found myself alternating volume levels on my TV to keep from blasting the place out once I started blowing up *****.
Speaking of that, I decided to play as the Decepticons first to keep my spoilers at a low level. Flying around as Blackout is really fun (and his voice sounds very low and brutal). You can tear stuff up in no time, and that EMP thing he has is almost unfair. Using the Wii remote definitely helps out in the aiming department when it comes to shooting at other helicopters and planes. I know the IGN Wii review complained about the lock-on system, but I had no problems with it. It was very easy, in fact.
After clearing a few chapters as Blackout and Skorpanok, I tried out a couple of missions as Bumblebee on the Autobot side of things. Driving around was a little bit of a learning curve. I ran over more than my fair share of Californians before I got a handle on things (gotta watch that turbo). Fighting with him is mostly melee, but he does have some long-range weapons. The problem with those is that they tend to destroy things, and that's bad when you're a good guy. If this game is any indication, Bumblebee is going to come off in the movie as a scrapper.
The graphics are good overall, but uneven. Some of the explosions will be impressive, but then you'll get a car that has little or no texture to it. That's some laaaaazy developing. At least the characters look good for the most part.
Things so far seem very straightforward in terms of gameplay. You go to your mission launch site...do the mission...look for another launch site...and so on. It's very Hulk:Ultimate Destruction-like in that you CAN go around and do side tasks and stuff, but they're really steering you towards the next quest. I can see it getting repetitive if you tried to play this in long sittings. I'm going to go through it in small chunks to get around that.
Oh, and lastly, it's hella fun transforming on the fly. I can't wait to see them do it in the movie.

I gotta get the Harry Potter game from Gamefly before TF. My daughter demands it (*looks down in embarrassment*).
BTW, I think the Harry Potter game for Wii is getting rave reviews. The whole "wand" thing and all.
Glad to see that almost every game manufacturer is taking the Wii big time seriously now, and shifting focus to it.
Just friggin hate the PS2 ports with the "gimmick-like" controls added on.
I dont think they were at first... but the ridiculous high sales of the Wii have demanded it. http://www.businessweek.com/globalb...?chan=top+news_top+news+index_global+business
Just last month alone it sold 4 times more than PS3 and twice as much as 360.
We still need tha 'killer app' like 360's Gears of War! I don't think a franchise game like Metroid or Mario-Something is gonna cut it. It needs something new and innovative!!! Manhunt 2? I dunno. Something!
