One thing that makes me a little more optimistic this time around? New scriptwriters.

Looks like they got the writers for the first Iron Man and Black Hawk Down this time around. Major step up from Ehren Kruger.

I mean, Bay's still directing, but at least he's got better writers to fall back on this time. And it seems like he's dialed it back just a tad.

Cautiously optimistic.

It's Unicron.

Cybertron was huge compared to Earth and the Moon in the third movie. Plus, even if that somehow is Cybertron, it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that maybe the Creators engineer him somehow.

That is one grandiose trailer, some stunning Bayhem going on and a more mature tone. I am not sure how we got to apocalyptic earth from where things were in the 4th film though.

I don't know... To me Bayformers are just crap, I was not able to finish watching even one of those films, yet everytime a new trailer arrives I'm like "hey, this is the guy who's made The Rock, maybe this is gonna be great, finally..." Yet everytime it's another bull****.

Shame these movies so unwatchable have visual and sound designs so remarkable. I really wish those films had great stories and better direction so one would be able to enjoy the designs without necessity of suffering the rest of the film.

With what we've about Optimus questioning his leadership and how seems to have been turned into Nemesis Prime by the Creators/Quintessons (or Unicron, mirroring the animated movie), I hope they acknowledge his violent behavior in the previous movies and have him come to terms with it. Would be a really powerful arc for him, assuming they don't kill him off or end the movie Empire Strikes Back style.

Don't count on it. As far as the filmmakers think, Optimus Prime's actions in the previous films were always righteous. Bay even talks about the character in interviews as if it was a saint.
